I have extensively driven various e9xs and owned e46s they both have great characteristics but to me the e46 is a more fun more collectible car. I love the e9x don't get me wrong fanboys relax is right

I think he was just stating his opinion regarding the cars.
We never know if he drove both cars or not.
Neither we know that each of you who said E9x is better have driven E46 or not.
He even mentioned E39, which is true. E39 is the game changer in my book.
Chillax, fellas.

If you call this "troll", how about those little girls who create douche bag threads?
If you disagree with this thread, maybe you guys should think whether the topic you're about to discuss should belong to Twitter or this forum.
O yeah, rants belong to Twitter, not forum.

Fun, raw and looking better are all personal subjective opinions. We've heard other E46 drivers saying exactly the opposite of what you're saying but none have came out and said E46 is more powerful, faster or more reliable. So thank you for sharing your personal opinion that may be right but is probably wrong.

Stock vs stock, yes E9x is superior in almost every aspect.
Modded vs modded, who knows?

I am so sorry I caused you to dislike your car

I'd feel the same way looking at my e9x and driving it after looking at this e46 and driving it....

Dangggggg and that is after 7 years of daily driver action driving it hard daily in Florida.....I highly doubt the e9x will look as good or have as much respect or have as much lust after the same time period....fanboys like you will move onto the f32 and the e9x will be obsolete in everyway in your mind huh?

I remember people saying the same thing about the E36 when the E46 came out. And on and on it will go.

I had 3 E46 M3s and I loved them all but the E92 M3 is just the better car in every respect.
However I can see why some people might think the E46 is more fun; with better turn in, grip and performance the E92 M3 has to be pushed harder and further before getting it to the edge....it needs more commitment and this kind of fun is gained at a higher level of risk.
Nevertheless I'd still take the E92 M3 over an E46 M3 any day.

How would a good 75 horsepower, better suspension/chassis and a DCT tranny not make it signifigantly better and faster. Anyone who has driven both can attest darn well it is signifigantly faster feeling in every situation. Sure it is 200 pounds heavier but more gears and 75hp more than adequatly makes up for that

Dude, you really started to look bad, if I were you I'd just stop posting and hope that this thread dies somehow..
You are the fanboy who just in love with his E46 with nothing to support his subjective claims (more fun, looks better and raw). Even when you tried to get other people's votes in your own thread below, 3/4 of the voters voted for the E92
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503620

and when you got dissapointed with the results of the poll you opened, you started solisting votes on other threads like this one, beging people to vote for the E46
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=371088&page=2

I don't know what else will it take to show you that you are just in love with your E46 but others actually don't see it the same as you do. It's a nice car but most of us think E92 looks better, perform better, faster and much more fun. I love my E92 too and actually can understand how would you feel this about your E46 however, I won't try this much to get other people to agree with me..Chill
Listen, I have daughters and I think they are the most beautiful girls on the planet, objectively, that can’t be true though so I just keep those subjective thoughts to myself and don’t go around asking people “Don’t you think my girls are just so beautiful? Aren’t they the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?”

To posters who claim the E9x is not as involving..

I'm genuinely curious. Would a suspension upgrade help? Perhaps also pulling out some sound deadening and mounting lighter wheels? The delta between the E46 and E92 is relatively small that I can't imagine some smart mods won't be able to help you with that involvement feeling.

I didn't actually think that OP was a troll or out of line at the start. At least until we got to this. Even racism, how classy.

Yeah, definitely a troll.

This arguement will never end. I couldn't get myself to trade in my E46 for the E92 so I kept both

OK... who let the 16 year old boy with race issues have access to Mommy's computer... wow. Some serious insecurity going on here. This thread was a bottom feeder to begin with but now it is just getting ridiculous.

Huh? You don't come across like a well versed technical expert yourself... a little pot/kettle action going on here I think.

Bottom line is, debate aside, you are getting a little offside with your comments, don't you think?

I know this is a forum of users obsessed with the buttons on the e9x and I love the e9x for it's motor and advanced technology. But for fun it just isn't close to a good e46 m3. Does anyone else feel this way? This goes for the e39 as well. However the new f10 m5 is pretty cool... M3 is just supposed to be the less luxurious fun car and the m5 is supposed to be the badassss executive saloon with cool technology but can beat anything out there. I'd like to see the line between the m3 and m5 less blured aka m3 lighter less buttons more of a pure everyday driver and racer. The m5 is good where it's at the m3 needs to distance itself from the m5.
I've owned both...don't feel that way at all. I actually sold my E46 a couple months after getting the E92 because I knew I wasnt ever gonna use it. I was always choosing the E92.

LOL wtf...

anyways, I own stock, low mileage examples of both and yes the E46 is more fun.

The E46 stereo and nav really suck. I don't have nav thankfully. The ride also isn't nearly as good as the E90, not to mention no bluetooth and.... bla bla bla. So, the E90 is more modern yes and clearly faster.

What a douche. There is no proving which is better its all a matter of taste. If you look at the numbers they all point to the e9x over the e46 but I would love to own both. Our cars aren't classics yet and neither are the e46s but they are both outstanding cars worth every penny.
