MY2012 production start date?

Hello Everyone! First time poster here but I hope to hang around on here more often now that I am about to become an official member of the ///M family!

I am picking up my car in Munich in a month but the online tracking tool says my vehicle is still in the documentation phase. The BMWNA website is still showing the 2011 models. Does anyone know when MY2012 production starts?

My CA told me that for the M3, MY2012 would begin in October but this is probably not accurate as I've seen a couple trip reports of people taking delivery on their 2012 M3. I guess the better question is how many days/weeks prior to the delivery date does production begin?

I think there have been literally 4 people pick up '12 M3s, as of this post. And all have been European delivery. That number will of course increase over the next few days.

If you already have your production number, it might take a couple of weeks to start assembly. Just keep checking the website!!

My dealer told me that MY2012 M3 model production started 9/Sep.

*edit*
My 2012, which I ordered 27/Aug is scheduled for production 31/Oct.

Your dealer should have taken a look at their own BMW system to know that there were several US M3 builds starting the last week of August and finishing by the 1st/2nd of September.
