Man, some of the off-track things that teams are doing at the Austin GP are pretty cringeworty. like the fake mustache on the Ferrari drivers while they try to lasso things. There's something to be said for embracing local culture, but it's borderline appropriation at this point... Going to a rodeo or horseback riding or something would have been a better choice if they want to highlight that small portion of American culture.

I as a German boy couldn't agree more! It's the same when Asian and other continent's tourists pretend to be native Germans wearing Lederhosen and checkered shirts and/or drinking seas of beer while walking on the streets, randomly asking at what time we're planning to launch WW3.

I feel your - as a dedicated U.S. resident - uneasiness, in view of the multiple cultures, ways of life and various beauty your country has to offer for the ones who can see. Unfortunately even the local media of our nations are forwarding those silly stereotypes.

Let's close our eyes and ears to this and open them for the sport itself!

It's the caricatures that really bug me, the Ferrari team seemed to take it the farthest from what I've seen - nobody showed up dressed like a pizza chef to Imola (at least not that I know of)... I don't necessarily mind the blue jeans/hats/boots/etc. It's fine to try to not stand out like a tourist too much. Bottas/Zhou look fine. The neckerchief takes it a little far though, imo. Or just do like Ham and wear some designer clothes that look... shall we say, unique... regardless of location.

Looking forward to the in-car action!

AM are in a bit of trouble especially Lance with overheating and steaming front brakes in the hot weather at Austin.

*and Lance out of the car with his shot front brakes needing to be changed.

Interesting Q3 result.
One of the rare mistakes of Max.
Luckily COTA has pretty good overtake possibilities.
Ferrari looks strong overall here, I hope they sorted out their race pace.

Pole is for Charlie . Congrats Ferrari

I wonder if Max will take this as an oppertunity to take a new engine grid penalty.
I don't know if he needs an extra one, this season the engines look very reliable.

Yes . MAX ran a very bad first sector . He was braking too late . It was on the edge of locking up !
Of course he knew that he lost time at that moment , then he took too much risks .What followed was going too wide and he exceeded the track limits ..

At the same I already knew , his pole lap would be deleted ...
It is what it is ...

Ferrari and Mercedes improved a lot !

Congrats Charlie !

That's a possibility . But it means P16 at the start grid
