It's bad...but I'm between doing this or the Remus race. I know that sounds like it makes no sense, but this option is just so much cheaper. But the one thing it doesn't have is that pop when you let off the throttle, and I don't feel like it's as loud, either.

muffler part #: 14816 [magnaflow]

actually, to tell yout he truth, its SUPER loud... i dont know how loud remus race is (never heard it in person), but this thing is LOUD, even with the windows all the way up. I am still adjusting to the amoutn of exhuast noise its making... anything even a bit louder and i think i would be annoyed having it as a daily driver

pics of the tips in a bit

$700 w/ labor... it's not the single muffler + dual tip job thats aroudn $400-500, it's the muffler that comes with 2 tips installed on it (more expensive part)

not bad at all (i'm actually bringing it in tomorrow again to reduce some noise w/ a crossover, it's so damn loud it's almost annoying)

thanks for the part number... i am debating between doing this or getting the muffler seperately and having the shop weld on a set of tips that i choose.

i was also going to go for remus but i think this way is so much cheaper.... i guess if i get sick of it after a while maybe i would be able to pick up a second hand remus muffler by then...

The price of installation, parts and labor for this custom exhaust + uninstall and REMUS used will be greater than buying a REMUS race new.

Just some food for thought!

How so? If the Remus race is what around 1200? I also had a magnaflow exhaust done and with the labor and everything comes out to 450

The REMUS race is 1422 retail.
My point was that going custom first, not liking it, removing it, purchasing new/used REMUS race, installing, will cost more than simply going with a specific exhaust up front.

Man I was thinking about using the same mufflers.....hey will the tips be more "in" since I have a coupe? I know it depends on the position and how its welded but I remember reading the e90 rear bumper is shorter

it should be just right since the guy who did it asked me how far i wanted the muffler tips to stick out, so they should be able to adjust the welding points to where the tips dont look shorter than they should be

Oh IC, can you please take a close pic of the tips? I was wondering if 3.5" tips from the 14816 would fit but was'nt sure, do they tuck in the outlet? thanks again

yea the tips from 14816 would fit with no problems... thats the muffler i plan to get... although i have to say that 3.5" tips would look much bigger than 3" (muffler 14815)... check out this link. he used 14816 on his car too.
