Why is Dealer Invoice is different than edmunds invoice!?!?!

So I was offered $500 over invoiice on my 09 M3, but here is the thing.....

Invoice according to the dealerships I visited is the invoice price listed on kbb.com, edmunds.com, etc.. PLUS a couple of other charges called, MACO $250 and Training Fee $190. Some dealers even wanted to charge me for matts, which I understood to be complimentary with the M.

Has anyone heard of these additional charges for invoice pricing. I have never heard of MACO and Training Fee. Are they just trying to make an extra $440 bucks off of me??

Those charges are standard. Few dealers will throw in the mats for free.

Yes my dealers invoice wasn't what was listed on edmunds. It included about 600$ more of fees. A good rule of thumb is to take w/e edmunds says and add ~ 500$ to it and thats should be about what the dealer paid.

Yes, MACO and the Training Fee get added to an Invoice deal UNLESS you buy it via ED (Euro Delivery). Then not only are you not charged those fees, but you usually can get it for ED Invoice + xxx, which is less than US Invoice

Those fees were part of my deal too. He's not pulling a fast one on you. Although he is making a few hundred extra dollars off you.

The Mats are not standard on the car. Silly, I know, but there not.
