Throw snow tires on and you would be just fine... even with a drop and lip. I drove through a pretty snowy Chicago winter last year with a similar set-up.

I only took a couple of the car on this day. Here's a view across the back, looking toward the lake and sunset:

Those are Canada Geese out on the ice, bedded down for the night to avoid the coyotes and foxes. I live a few blocks from the other side of the lake.

No, the geese came to me. Colorado is much nicer in the winter.

Interesting you think it was brutal here, I find Chicago winters harsher than Toronto winters.... now Buffalo has it REALLY bad, they are right in the snow belt.

I'm another toronto driver that has no issues driving around in the snow and slush with my M... really that's why I went for the M, knew it was perfectly capable of being an all-season car as I only have one parking spot in my condo! If I had a 2nd, Id have a Jeep and something even more performance oriented for the summers.

Thank you JDy80.

Here's what I'm using as my wallpaper right now, taken just a day before the icey one:

There's more of those crazy Canada geese.

You're welcome to personal use of anything on my photo stream at Flickr (see the link below).

Did anyone get any shots this weekend in NYC/Philly/DC? I was in NYC for the weekend and it was CRAZY! Unfortunately didn't get any shots as my M was stuck in a parking garage.

that's what I'm wondering???? Got 24" on the Eastern end of L.I. Got to drive in it for awhile while it was only a couple inches deep with the ///M and that was fun as hell. Didn't get out to snap any pics though, sorry.

Just don't say that the M cannot be driven in severe winter conditions unless you have actually experienced it yourself with the right equipment (tires).
Well said. There's nothing wrong with driving M3's or similar cars in the winter with proper tires, but if someone prefers driving a different car when it snows, so be it. I prefer driving my WRX in the snow, but if I didn't have it, I would certainly be driving my 135 with snow tires.

How about some more snow pictures?

dcstep, very nice shots.

Hey have been away from the board for a while, I was actually in Hamilton but we ventured to Toronto, was in the middle of that blizzard that hit. The Canadian girls beat us in every game, they are tough.

I've been driving BMWs (330Ci, e46 M3, e92 M3) for 6 winters now in Toronto and haven't encounter much problem. There's the occassional fish tailing when we want to have fun and a bit of a problem going up icy hills but hey most of the time it's great.
