Question Blue Water M3 in Fresno??

Ok I know that sounds wierd.
But my friend "claims" he saw a Blue Water Metallic E92 M3 in Fresno.
So I was wondering if the owner is on the forum?

So if you're the owner, please come forward
I would like to see how blue water looks on a M3

**On the side note...
Does anyone here own or seen a Blue Water Metallic M3?

Although SSII has a very slight bluish tint to it, I think it might have been a special-order "Atlantis Blue."

Alright then. I have no idea what you mean by "blue water." SSII looks mostly silver in sunlight, but has a bluish tint at dusk and in overcast conditions.

Blue water metallic is a color offered to 1 and 3 series cars,
but it isnt offered to M cars.

So the owner must have custom ordered the color just like the owner of the Atlantis Blue M3.

you are able to custom order colors...

1. if your dealership is willing to go through the trouble for you to get that specific color on your car.

2. if you are willing to spend the extra dough for that specific color.

What is it your confused about? BlueWater is a color that has been standard on many 3series and now 1series cars. I have a picture of an E46 M3 in BlueWater. I like the color and think it would look awesome on an E90M3 with bamboo interior!

In the right light Silverstone looks exactly like blue water. A friend of mine had a blue water X3 and parked next to a silverstone M5 they looked almost exactly the same from some angles

Yup.

Silverstone looks silver under bright lighting, but otherwise it looks light blue.

I didn't say I was confused, I said I had no idea what he was talking about. I am not a BMW color trivia expert, as a brand agnostic, owner (past and present) of scores of different makes of cars. I had no idea there was such a color named, "Bluewater," on other models.

Silverstone II (and I own one) never looks like blue water to me, and if that is blue water, I'd rather be around a different body of water, preferably near Tahiti.

Semantics. I wasn't trying insult you. It's just that you said you didn't know what he was talking about, and you yourself admitted you didn't even know it was an actual production color. Just trying to clear up the confusion. Its nothing like Atlantis either. As far as what the color actually looks like, here is BW on an E46 M3. I can see someone cunfusing SSII with it under 'certain' lighting conditions.

I wanted to order a 2010 M3 in Dakar Yellow (custom color) but my dealer says that he can’t do it. Does that mean that he can’t or just doesn’t want to?
