Look at an M5 in Chantilly?

Jaguar Landrover of Chantilly has a Silverstone Metallic/Black Leather 2008 M5 6MT at a halfway reasonable price with a good carfax. Their internet consumer reviews mention that some of their pre-owned cars have a number of stone chips etc. Is anyone in the area who could stop by and check this car out for me? It's tough to get there from PA.

If you're really serious about buying I'd be happy to check the car out for you. I have an M5 so I know what to look for and see if everything checks out.

I'd hate to waste my own time as well as the dealer's time for nothing, but if you're serious about the car I'd have no problem checkin it out for you

Thank you. Yup, I'm serious. I have not talked with the dealer about this particular car yet, but I've been looking for a 6mt M5 in AW or silver with non-silverstone interior and less than 30K miles since December. The few I've found were priced closer to or above $60K, including one CPO car in Manhattan.

My 335i lease expires (thankfully) Sept.1 and I don't want to drive the kids' '03 Cooper S on business this fall.

I'm going to be at Summit Point Monday with the NJ Advanced School and could swing down to look at it Monday evening. It's less than an hour away...

Sounds good, if you want me to check it out let me know. It's about 20 minutes from where I live. Just shoot me a PM, and let the dealer know that I will be coming to look at it.

Does having an E36 M3 and an E93 M3 count? I might become an M&M&M. Oh, the decadence!

Thank you, Matt, for checking out the car for me. I now have them down to my price and the guys from Curry's are going to check it over for clutch and/or any bent pieces. I'm at Summit today with the Club, and the BMW master tech here said have those items checked out even if it drives well. Clutches are $4K apparently - wow.

If it checks out (and I expect it to) then I have myself an M5! Thanks to this great list and to BMWPower06 for taking the time to help me out. It is very much appreciated.

No problem Dave, I'm glad to help. Just from my experience with the car though the clutch seemed like it was in great condition and the shifter had shorter throws than I had initially expected, which was very nice! Congrats on the car
