Clock and trip meter reset after sitting?......

Hey guys, so I do not use my M3 (2008) as my daily driver. I drive it every two or three weeks on the weekends. The last two times it has sat for two weeks the clock and the trip meter have somehow reset to 0 and both have to be reset. Does not seem to matter if I hook up my battery tender or not. Is this a sign that my battery is going out? or just some type of pre caution that the car makes on its own? Help please.

Thanks.

'08, the battery could just be old and not holding a charge, tender or not... Is it the original battery that came with the car? If so I'm betting simple old age is the issue.

OP states "Does not seem to matter if I hook up my battery tender or not."... Tender is clearly not doing the trick. That tells me it's the battery.

True but a good tender would let you know whether the battery was charged or not. It is possible that the battery could be charged but as soon as the the tender is removed, the battery slowly dies due to a bad battery or cell.

Thanks guys. Is the battery covered under the four year initial warranty?
