Terrible Vendors

I won't name names since the vendors control the forum but I have never had as many bad experiences with vendors as I have with the ones here. I have used 16 different vendors here and 8 of them (50% for the math challenged), I had issues with. Whether it be customer service or product or both. All I can say is, buyers beware and don't believe the hype.

I've dealt with maybe 8 different ones?
I've had good experiences with all of them... but I do know people who have had not so great experiences with the same ones

Guess I just get lucky

Very much agreed, especially with one vendor in particular, who threatened me over a misconception they drew up on their own. There was also one that called me and cussed me out over their own defective product, but I digress. I'm not naming names for the same reason as you though. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if some (but not all, I know a few cool ones) of the forum admins/mods would go as far as sell our private information to vendors to protect the vendor's interests.

There are a few good vendors on here, so not all of them are bad, but for the most part I just stick with the vendors that aren't on the forum, and just two that are.

You should name names..that way we (the customers) have a stronger voice..are better informed..and maybe the power away from some of these vendors..who often times..are full of it.

Oh, I am definitely tempted. Already had several people PM me regarding it. I think may people would be surprised by the list. Plus there are too many fanboys of these vendors who can do no wrong.

It would just end up like a Vossen thread...disappear from existance.

I agree, but this would only come at my detriment since I am only one in a sea of fanboys and mods.

So true, you end up becoming the bad guy even though you are just trying to help people make informed decisions. So many of these forum guys take your good will, turn it around, twist it into something malevolent, and ruin you for your good intentions. It's sad but true that it it's becoming increasingly less worth it to help a fellow community member anymore.

+1

Modding cars is supposed to be fun and relaxing but when you have to deal with bad vendors (which seem to be prevalent), you get turned off. Because of the many bad experiences I've had with my modding my prior cars (including poorly fitting parts), I've decided to stick to OEM mods (i.e., M Perf. parts) except for the front lip. So at this point I've completed my OEM shopping list but nevertheless, it would be a service to the community to post the vendors that haven't lived up to the hype.

What he said! Nothing more I hate than every time someone asks of an opinion on a part or some kind of an upgrade, here come the "vultures" with their ads and offers.

"we got this in stock" or "call us we're the best in the area"

What a bunch of bs.

The funny part is at least 1 person in this thread who has commented so far I have seen railing out against someone who has spoken out against a vendor. I think that's why THE TECH chooses to remain silent, and I honestly can't blame him.

What's the purpose of this thread then? A rant?

I dunno. I'm not THE TECH. I was just expressing my opinion on THE TECH's thread since everyone else excercises their right to free opinion in other threads all over the place regardless of topic, and THE TECH hasn't stopped me yet.

'Course if he tells me to stop, I'll likely respect his wish and stop.

It happens on most car forums. The vendors pay to advertise on the forums and so the forums are inclined to listen to vendor complaints. Threads disappear and comments deleted.

Mostly at this point. I just wanted to make it known that even though some of these vendors look squeaky clean from their outward appearance, that looks are definitely deceiving. It's the fanboys and people who don't really know who perpetuate the false images.

Keep it going Late!! I'm fine with it. I'm all over this forum putting my two cents here and there. I tell it like it is. I know some people don't like that, but that's just the way I am.
