I finally got a dealer with 1 allocation and ordered it up. Had to pay $1700 over invoice tho :'(.

If anybody wants to know some CA dealers that have custom order allocation, I know 3 and their price over invoice. PM me.

Anybody know why my dealer has a destination charge of $925 instead of $895?

Looks like my dealer trying to screw me on quote already. I negotiated $1700 over invoice of 69,385 I got back a lease with this:

Selling price: 71,585 (he added $500 in there)
Amt applied up front: 2913.34 (for some reason this payment doesn't reduce my cap?! what am I paying then?)
Total cap reduction: 4336.66 (5k my cash, dealer 2250 incentives)
Net cap cost: 67,277.34 ($80 doc fee, 925 delivery, 575 CA license, 29 cap fee)

Residual: 62% (that's correct actually)
Rate/Money Factor: 1.97 (I don't understand this at all, I thought MF was 0.00127 = 3.05%/2400, but this number corresponds to neither of those)

Payment: $865.62 (with $5k cash down)

I used LeaseGuide.com with the correct numbers and with 3k down + dealer incentive I got a lease of $755/mo with tax! WTF!

okay, so you did present the dealer with the correct info, or counter offer, right?

what did they say?

I pointed out the errors and asked them about the interest rate. I don't understand some of the stuff in there, like why up front amount is separate from cap cost reduction. We'll see what kind of BS they come up with. Meanwhile, I'm using my costco auto program at another dealer to see if they give me that price, I believe they have to.

this happened to me before at herb chambers bmw. if you ask them to show you the money factor on their computer (they have a sheet with all of them), theyll start saying that they dont want to show it to you. so you have to insist. then theyll finally show it becuase theyre obligated to. then theyll adjust it to .00127. i got screwed on my previous m3 lease. they put .00350 for money factor instead of .00145 and i didnt read any of the fine print so i ended up paying a few hundred more a month.

anyways, best of luck.

also, i have a spreadsheet thats accurate in calculating leases if you want to use it instead of the online calculator. thats what i did when purchasing my second m, and it gave me the same thing the dealer came up with.

pm me if interested.

Hey all,

Total noob to leasing and am finding this thread super useful so thank you!

I've been eying the e92 m3 for a while and getting my 5er serviced, found this perfectly spec'd to me

2013 Jerez/Fox Red M3
Competition Package
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
M-DCT
Auto High Beams
BMW Apps
Premium Sound

$73850 + (Dest 895 & Gas Guzzler 1300).

Minus the Loyalty (750) and Rebate (1500) currently being offered.

A brief talk w/ the CA and he mentioned the lease rate is currently 3.048%, and it basically comes out to $36,400 for 36 months (gave a few scenerios, ~4k down and 893/mo, ~11k down and 700/mo, etc).

Since im really new to leasing I'm finding this forum and thread super helpful in terms of what to ask the CA when I talk to him next.

But was hoping some of you might be able to just chime in if this looks reasonable in terms of current market? How do i check for invoice pricing, and being that this is the only one they had on the lot left (he mentioned not getting anymore in, and I checked some of the other local dealers and they didnt have similar spec (Im in NY)), would there be any bargaining power on my side?

Thanks in advance!

here's a good tip.....don't discuss any lease terms such as money factors until you come to an agreed selling price of the car. it just convolutes the discussion, which works in their favor. a salesman, at this point, doesn't need to know wether you're going to lease or buy the car.

judging by what you've said above, it looks like you've accepted MSRP for the car minus incentives and rebates.

IMO, you can do better than that. there's still enough M3s out there that you can leverage one deal against another , or at the very least, have a good alternative choice.

so, first things first, settle on a selling price on the car. at the same time locate some other M3s at other lots, start a relationship with anyone in sales there and do the same thing.

cars.com and autotrader are great resources for this. you don't even have to leave your seat.

do this, then you can discuss particulars.

Basically even though he agreed to $1700 over invoice what he did was try to screw me on MF by tuning it up to get another $1600 out of the lease. I told him BMW website is 3.05%=.00127 and he said there's no way they'd give the BMW rate. They're not a freakin bank.

Looks like that additional fees:
acquisition fee 925 - on top of destination fee? wtf?!
MACO - why should I pay their advertising? BS- I dont give a crap how well they're trained.

Ordered M3 through Military Sales

First post here. Ouch. I managed to order one the way I wanted it (qualify for Civic ///M?) under Military Sales program. (In AFG now).

Got production number, production week 26/06/2013.

6MT Interlagos Blue
Black Novillo (no Superman for me)
Competition Pkg
Heated Seats
Carbon Leather

$51,100 for vehicle, $5K in options (full price) = $56,100

+925 Dest. & Handling + $1300 gas guzzler.

Total=$58,325 (yes, I know, must pay tax when registering).

Have previously owned E46 ///M3, so not new to the family, just to the E9X M cars. Expected delivery week is 31/07/2013.

Civic M3 is non-Competition package. And thank you for not getting the superman combo, looks like you have yourself a nice car there!

first off, if they don't give you the mf you want....walk. like i've said above, if you're willing to look farther than your local dealers, you can get a good deal from the comfort of your living room.

in my 8-12 weeks of looking i've had numerous deals that came out the way i needed them too. they're out there you just have to look. i was willing to look the entire country.

now, i haven't been looking in the last week or so....the market may have changed. the end of the E92 production cycle can make things more difficult....but that is a chance you have to choose to take. you may have to weigh your expectations of a good deal against the realities of the market place and just how badly you want an M3.

if it were me, i'd take that chance.

Anyone that is in Illinois I would encourage you to give Michal a try. He is a class act and his pricing is competitive. I did not buy from him because the transport fees and out of state DMV fees for California would not make it worth it. But if I were local, I would not hesitate to buy from him. Tell him Travis sent you.

So, let me get this straight. You never bought a car from him, but you have no problem recommending him to someone else? How would you know if he is good unless you've gone through the whole transaction? Just curious.
