I just got my car back, they replaced the Throttle Actuator. She feels like before, no rough idle anymore.

Same thing happened to me Saturday . Christmas tree time: Engine malfunction, emissions, DBC, Start assist, DSC, FTM . It did happen to me in the past, but a restart usually solved the problem. Not this time though. Started the car a few times today, the warnings and reduced power remain . When it says reduced power, it's no joke, could barely get to 60mph .

Sort of lucky it happened now though, my car comes off warranty at the end of the month. Hopefully they'll flash the car to the latest software . I already had an appointment at the dealer for next Monday. If it is the throttle actuators, I certainly hope they no longer are on back order, I have a track day on July 9th...

This seems like to be too common!! Make sure you get them fix it under warranty as the repaire seems to be around $4-5k if your warranty is expired.

And yes, M3 is not driveable in reduce power at all!

Just want to add this happen to me too '08 Dct. Throttle actuator seems fairly common on the forums but not so in real world as the workshop i go to says it's the first they encountered. Seems to be a leftover problem from the S85 v10?

It's the idle valve. They did a recall for pre 09 cars because of the idle valve, it seems that the newer cars have still has the problem.

My idle valve was already replaced a few years back...

Yo, you dudes in Canada might want to look into some kind of lemon law in Canada. We all love our M3, but if the car got issues from the factory, get rid of it before all the heartache you are going to endure.

I had a Q7 4.2 S Line that I loved so much. About 40,000 miles an oil leaked developed and everything went south after that. Needless to say I lemoned it and didn't look back since. There were times I wanted to keep it but it just kept going back to the dealership to get more work done right then I knew there is no way I'm going to keep the car after the warranty expires.

I just got a call from my SA: throttle actuators are the suspected culprit.

Parts are back order 8 to 10 working days .

So 2 weeks for you, it was 3 weeks for me. I am wondering why this part is on back order all the time? Maybe because so many M3s have this problem?! Lol
