Steering wheel trim

Can I replace the trim piece without popping the airbag out? I did a performance steering wheel swap last year so I am familiar with how to get the steering wheel off and apart if I have to. Just need to know if there are any issues with taking the three screws off the back and replacing the trim while still on the car.

I replaced the trim on my wheel (only have the oem stock wheel) but had no problems removing it and replacing.

Thanks. You were able to remove and replace the trim without releasing the airbag from the steering wheel?

yes just unscrew the 3 hex screws in the back it is completely independent of the airbag
