Bought eBay Carbon Fiber Front Splitters - Unboxing and Fitment Video
Hi all. I picked up a set of eBay carbon fiber front splitters a few weeks ago after seeing a few endorsements in this forum. If you're wondering how good these 'knock-off' splitters are, look no further.
Hope you guys enjoy the videos and find them informative. http://www.rightfootdown.com/cars/rf...led-on-e92-m3/ SPOILER ALERT: The mold is spot on but really should include additional mounting hardware.

I hate the idea of purchasing anything other than OEM parts.
You have good argument about cost of the OEM, hence the reason why I am searching for used set (unsuccessfully for last 3 months). I might give that search soon and follow your lead. Thank you for positing review!

For what it's worth ... these don't look like the OEM splitters. Not sure what that inner lip (seen on the far right of the piece in the attached picture) is all about.

This. Transition on the leading face is way more abrupt and the corner is chunky and same with the innermost (central) part. The dimensions are all off.

I used to run jb speed splitters and they looked and fit fine. I don't see the point in spending oem money for somethings that's gona get scratched up.

Some of us have BMW Performance seats even though they are essentially Recaro Sportster CS seats wrapped in overpriced OEM alcantara. Others of us spend $2000 for the OEM GTS front lip. Put it this way, if someone had two pairs of splitters -- 1 oem pair and 1 replica pair -- and you could choose either free of charge, which would you pick? No reasonable man would choose the latter. We should revisit this thread in 12-18 months once the clearcoat on those replica splitters has started to yellow. |

I've had these for over a year, clearcoat is fine. Once they get banged up, I'll just throw them away and buy them again. They're really fine as long as you can deal with the fact that they're not the OEM shape but they actually still look really cool - not obnoxious or cheap looking in design.

Just FYI, not all eBay replica splitters are the same. I have found variances in two to three types now. OP's is the least closest to OEM in terms of design.
These are the ones I ordered and will post a detailed thread on fitment and shape vs. OEM. Compare the the size of the part that wraps under the outer corners of the bumper once installed. The ones in OP's pic look very chunky and don't even wrap inwards, but rather stay large and vertical towards the ground. Also notice how thin these ones are compared to OP's. And how these are full CF: Even the fang portion of these has a more curved taper vs. the sharp straight edge jutting out on OP's.
