Platane Wood Pics
Now that the "M3"s are out does anyone have a pic of the Platane Wood in an actual car?
I believe it's either a Sycamore or Anthracite type of wood..... |

It's anthracite. I haven't seen any real life pics.

I hope we see some soon as this is the trim option I am considering most at this point.

In the UK they call it Anthracite Mirror Finish Wood, and when specifying my car it was my preferred option because: 1. It's nice to have classy wood in the car, bring in a bit of nature! 2. I felt the CF Leather would be too much as in the Z4M Coupe. 3. Having the wood is likely to be under used so more unique. Then, I saw the swatch and took it to the demo CF Leather car. I immediately decided to spec the CF Leather instead because: 1. It's a far thinner strip than when applied to the Z4M Coupe. 2. The wood didn't look good, it had orange striations in it and 3. It also had mainly round bits in anthracite for the wood effect. Really, I thought it looked a little weird and could not consider it; with any of the 4 leather colour options. Really, really weird. If you've seen the Grey Wood in the 335i M Sport Coupe then you may conclude that it looks better than this M3 option. |
