Morgan Eva GT: BMW-Powered Sports Coupe
Morgan has released some images and specs of its new Morgan Eva GT Sports Coupe, powered by BMW's twin turbo N54 motor, which is predicted to propel the 2755 lbs car from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. It will be available in 6 speed auto or manual transmission.
Despite its decidedly sports car shape, the Morgan says the car is targeted at young families with its 4 seat layout. We suspect that the rear seats will be 911 like however, only good for very young children. The Eva GT's design takes cues from sports car classics such as the Frazer Nash BMW 328 from the 1950's. The Eva GT has an all aluminum body / bonded aluminum chassis and weighs in at just 2755lbs (1250kg). No official price has yet been released, but Morgan has said that the price will be competitive with other cars in its class (whatever that may be). A £5000 deposit is required for interested owners and the first Eva GT's will be delivered beginning mid-2012. Claimed performance specs (subject to change):

hmm with the substantially lighter weight, i can see around average of 30mpg but not 40...
but i think their measurements are European mpg and not the US mpg figures

Double meh.
I'm not sure which I hate most, the grille, the flat windshield, or the Ascot formal paint job. It looks like a student design that someone spent an enormous sum building.
