Wheel choice...
Well, my AW M3 has arrived at the dealers on its stock 18s and I need to get my 19s ordered ready for collection so its decision time. The 18s will be for track and the 19s for road. Which to go for?
Breyton GTS Race in black and add either a white vinyl edge or polished edge... Same wheels in gunmetal (I like the look on here but in reality wont they just look dirty?) Breyton Spirits (would probably have the rivets painted black to tone them down) Im wary that the split rim wheels might look small due to the design but dont want to go to 20''. An outside option is to stick with silver, I really wanted a contrasting colour to the AW but the GTS do look nice in silver... |

Mate, I say go pick the car up and see what it looks like with the stock 18" alloys on it, these are already Gunmetal in look, if it looks right with them on then go for the equivalent. If not pick one of the others.

I dig the contrast between different finishes on the "spokes" and rim itself. Although the lip is a bit too wide and wheels look too big (20"), I really like the iForged Essen in "hypergrey" (1st pic). Looks like a dull sandblasted finish + grey anodize. One design feature I really like about this wheel is the huge dish near the bolt circle that is carried over from the stock 19s on both the E46 M3 and E92 M3. The second pic is the same wheel in 19" "hyperblack". Weights are unknown, I'd like to know myself.
Don't get me started about lowering ones car too much as well.... |

Personally I like a rim to has a certain factory look about it, as if it's something the factory might consider themselves.
This is why I personally steer away from split rims, they are too boy racer for me. But I do like to finish of the centres. |

Looks like I'll probably get black Breyton GTS Race 19 inchers with a white lip painted/vinyled on.
Should look spot on on an Alpine White M3 with black leather and the sun glass, carbon roof etc. Nice black and white theme throughout. Best photoshops I can manage.... Last edited by Leg; 02-17-2008 at 05:09 PM.. |

Leg,
As always, no photoshop can ever do anything justice. To me these don't look as nice as I know they will, if you know what I mean. Good choice all the same. |

Settled on black Breyton GTS Race in 19 inch and having a white lip painted on at a bodyshop. OEM 18s for track.
Just need to decide which tryes to put on. Ive always been impressed by Pirelli Pzero Neros that I have had on the TT or I could get the same tyres as the OEM 19s come with. Damn, one decision leads to another. |

I searched and didn't find anything, does anyone know if wheels for the E46 M3 will fit on the E92 M3?

how about these? 19" Schmieden Indivi - around 9.5kg. But I've sent them in to change to a gun metal glossy finish...
from what I know, the Breyton GTS Race are around 12kg, but waiting for my dealer to confirm. |

I'm a big fan of the gunmetal look of the 18" alloys, especially on the white bodywork. It's gives it a mean, GT racer look, like you have already done 1000km and the rims are covered in brake dust. I just wished they offered a similar look for the 19" alloys as it would be my desired choice. |
