New BMW Software Upgrade?
So I took my car in for Service today, my Service Manager told me that there is a "new software" upgrade for the M3... Just wondering if anyone know or heard about this, and know what it is?
Mine is a April/May 2010 Production "2011 ZCP"

DCT software? It's been out for a few months.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Is it to upgrade to 6NR - Entertainment or Tranny. Mine is a 2011 but have not taken it in for service yet.

I'm interested in knowing too. I am taking it in for 15,000 mile service on friday and if there is an update i want it! Mine is september 2009 build, not sure if theres an update since then.

It is a DCT software update. Had mine done last month. I also had a April 2010 build--2011 ZCP. I think someone mentioned this software has been out since September?

My dealer refused to do a software update. My SA said there had to be a documented problem that they could reproduce before any software update. Mine is a 09 march build with 6MT.

I did the upgrade 1 month ago on my 2011 december made and I dont physically see the difference. I wanted the 6NR (app) upgrade but I have heard now that retrofit upgrade is coming in June. I have the latest Idrive but not the BMW app feature.

Does anyone know if the dealer can deny me the software upgrade if it's for DCT? I heard some people can get a downshift blip in S3 after the upgrade, my car doesn't do that.
