You are correct. This isn't a true representation of it.

I bet it will be more black than you are expecting when you finally see it in person.

Yes, keep in mind 90% of the "black" M3's posted on this site are Jerez and not Jet - people simply pick out the minor few that don't look black and peg it as a purple car

Can someone who has seen Jerez in person and has seen the hardcopy of the sales brochure with small color samples on it comment on if the color samples are representative of Jerez? The color sample boxes are small and do not appear to be printed with the same process used to print the rest of brochure. When I hold the brochure under sunlight the difference between Jet Black and Jerez becomes clear, and I don't see too much purple in Jerez at all--more like deep blue than purple.

Like many other M3 colors, it fully depends on light conditions.

IB, JB and Sparkling Graphite all have in a certain way some purple in them. I have seen those colors IRL.
I stand where I was may last year; SS2 is by far the best color ( for me that is) but off course each to his own

In the pictures in which it looks purple the colour balance seems wrong. Either the reds are washed out (as in the rear end pic above) or the greens are overemphasized (as in the video posted earlier). I've seen 2 Jerez cars in person (one inside, one outside) and both looked blue to me.
