They did not race it that way,but cut the outer sleeve off and inserted the baffles in the collector.Probally cost them 50 horsepower. |

Wow Lucid. What a car you just bought. I'll do my best to be in Tremblant to look out for your car. I'm moving at the end of August with my family in France so I don't know yet if I'll be able to free up time to run on the track with my E92 M3.
It be good to see you around. Ciao, Vincent |

Hey there Lucid,
Looks like we'll get to meet up. My first time at LCMT . Im signed up for the Friday only with 3 other friends. One of my friends has a 360 Modena Challenge Stradale but he is not coming with that car He's bringing his 08 Audi RS4. The other 2 guys all have current model M3's. One has the 4 door and the other the coupe. The other guy with the Coupe is an instructor. Looking forward to seeing you there , Antony P.S. I took the day off tomorrow to drive down to Plattsburgh where I had TireRack send my new RE11's. Looking forward to trying those out on friday and I also made up a homemade camera mount to video friday!

hey Great meeting you at Tremblant.
Hope you worked out that rear view mirror issue and enjoyed the weekend! I had a blast Ffirday and toasted (warped) my front discs. Good thing I didnt sign up for all 3 days.

I doubt that your rotors are warped. If you used the stock pads and are experiencing vibration through the pedal, it is most likely a pad deposit issue. Very common with stock pads. If that's the case, it'll go away in a few weeks. Also, I haven't driven on RE-11s, but I think 45-46 psi hot for the RE-11s is too much. Mt. Tremblant is a great curcuit. Turns 2-3 are tricky, but fun.

I have the service plan so I called my SA and booked an appointment on wednesday to change them after that I booked an appointment with a BMW specialist shop to put on Race Pads and Steel Braided lines. Already have the race brake fluid. I think next year I will invest in some Coilovers then Im done as far as mods goes. I had some excellent pickup along the back straight . I was able to hit between 220 and 230 prior to braking hard for that right hander. I would actually make up about 6 to even 10 car lengths on that back straight but those track cars killed me in the corners. Stock suspension and brakes just couldnt keep up. Im signing up for a 2 day in LCMT on Aug 20 and 21st with BMWCCA Quebec. As far as the PSI on the RE11's I am also sure I was running too hot. Next time I will decrease and see how that goes. Again... I must say I LOVED the performance of the RE11's . I would 100% recommend them as a track/street tire.

The stock rotors should last at least 10 track days and 10k miles, but you might just as well get them replaced if the surface is uneven and if you have vibration. Your exhaust sounds great btw!

Lucid,
It was nice meeting you and getting to drive in the same group. I had a great time even though I was in a low horsepower car. It was great to drive the track vs taking rides as I had done so many times before. The turn 1-2-3 combo was a ton of fun and it sure takes some "big 'ens" to go through there without braking like the racers and many of the instructors do. For me the most diffucult section to get right was the 4-5 combo. It was hard getting a lot of speed out of 5 for the long stretch down to the carosel. I wish I had set up my video cam in my friends car. That would make some entertaining videos of the track. Pics will be coming soon.

That taught me be a good lesson about getting your equipment straight before an event such as making sure your newly acquired track prepped car has a rear view mirror. I swear I thought it had one when I test drove it! I was so busy trying to figure out if I cleared your car after you pointed me by that I missed my braking point and went in too hot. Anyway, no harm done, so it's all good. 4-5 seemed to work for me most of the time, but I had to short shift before 6 or otherwise I'd be riding the limiter through it.

I wasn't going to call you out on the forum, but yeah...it would have made for an interesting video.

I also passed the Ferrari, in a tired '89 E30 325i with no engine mods. 160hp baby.

I'll dyno the E30 M3 soon. I am curious. When I passed you on the straight the first time, were you WOT or did you lift slightly? If you were WOT, that was a good indication of the power difference between the two cars, which didn't seem like a whole lot, as when you gave me the point by we were pretty much at the same speed. The Ferrari looked kind of lost.

I really liked the track. The E92 would be right at home there on the straights and the sweepers. Can't wait to do it again next year. See you then!

Damn... You have a DCT M3 ... THAT would have been amazing for the track. Too bad you and Lucid didnt come with your M3's. I never saw such a HUGE collection of E46M3's and E30M3's for the track ! The light shows up on all onboard videos . Its the hazard but no they were not on . As far as the exhaust... I had quite a few people complement me on the sound . Its quite amazing and changes sound as it winds up to 8500 . I actually got black flagged at the end of my 3rd session and had to ease off the throttle in my last session. If you look at the video when the E46 passes me around the 7 min mark (somewhere around there) thats where the DB monitor was so I was always letting off there. Same spot where I passed the Ferrari. Believe it or not I was black flagged for 92.4 DB ! LOL I was .4 above the limit. Im headed back there next week for 2 days and Im trying to find exhaust tips that point down . Ive been told they reduce up to 4 DB. I just cant seem to find them anywhere so if any of you know where I can go please let me know.
