LMAO I laugh at 335i owners that think a 335i with only a tune can beat a M3.

My brother owned a 09 E90 M3 (DCT) and waxed me on the top end all the time.

My 335i has JB4 and other basic bolt-ons. (Has cats)

So OP I see your point on this topic.

Too bad your 335 runs like crap. You should get that looked at. My old 335 with similar mods ran right there with supercharged M3s at prior roll-on events.

I guess you didn't see that the Procede e85 tune-only car pulled 425 RWHP. But this is no where enough power to beat the 345 RWHP M3

But if you want to make some kind of excuses about this tune only being on the market for a few weeks, fine...but then tell that to Jeef who put a few car lengths on an M3 at the Trona Airstrip Event with just a tune...and it was a Cobb...and Jeef's girlfriend was in the car as well. This wasn't off the line, it was a 40mph to 130 mph pull.

And yes, I'd rather a boosted M rather than a tuned 335i. I'm looking at the bigger picture, and in this case it's the M3. In every aspect. I don't care if it's slower.

It's like my buddy, he keeps yacking about getting a z06. I tell him I'd rather be in a Gallardo. I respect both cars, but at the end of the day I want to be in the better car. Not necessarily the faster one.
No one cares what you like or don't like. But when you going around making assinine comments - comparing the n54 335i to a Civic - even M3 owners like me are going to give you backlash.

And no one on this side of the board cares that if we add LSD, coils and tires, that it can do wonders for a 335.

M3>335

Have a nice day.

I bought my M3 earlier this year while my 335 was in the bodyshop getting fixed from a minor accident. The dealership worked out a deal to where I could take the M3 and then return the 335 when it was repaired. A week later the 335 was ready. I drove it to the dealership to return it. It felt like a tin can after driving the M for a week! The 335 only had 26k miles on it so it wasn't beat up. It's a different experience all together!

Yup I call bullshit!

You really have the balls to say you ran with supercharged M3's with just bolt ons?

Either you're stretching the truth or those M3 drivers really suck at driving...

I personally think the 335IS is a ripoff, I'd just fork over a little more money and get an M3. It's nothing special for the extra cost. (unless you get the DCT)

Wrong as there are people here researching their next car...not everyone is an M3 owner/M3 fanboy like you. For people actually interested in performance numbers, the combination of a tune + meth or e85 tune mated with these items will do 0-60 in 3.5 sec...qtr mile in high 11's @ 120...destroy the M3 in any roll-on scenario...and is very competitive around a track...at a $20-$30K cost savings. But I get it...you want a car that makes you "feel" special.

How long have you been on these forums? There's a vid of me racing PencilGeek at the Trona Airstrip Event. He was running an ESS VT1 535 M3 and I was in my 335. 40 to 145 roll-one ended in a tie. Do yourself a favor and do some logs and put your 335 on a dyno as it is not running right.

Sweet Jesus, did a 335 owner REALLY call it the new Supra?

That's gotta be a new level of pro-335 elitism and snobbery.

2JZ's are notorious for making obscene amounts of power on stock internals and being stronger than a brick shithouse. N54/55's? Not so much...

2JZ > N54/55

edit: just as asinine a comment as "335s are the new Civic" IMO.

Apples to oranges.

Apples to oranges.
Until we really start seeing the single turbo conversions out on the street in any numbers its hard to substantiate claims in either direction. Personally, I think the N54's potential has just begun to be explored.

2JZGTE's power capabilities came from far more than just their internals, but I do agree with your analogy.

I've built and run both a 2JZGE and a 2JZGTE in my IS, the GE could not run the numbers the GTE could simply based on varying design elements, such as the throttle body/intake runner positioning over the block. It had nothing to do with the internals, which after I built the bottom end, were identical. Such modifications for the n54 may emerge in the future enabling it to take on the GTE.

BTW, I also owned a FBO/Meth n54 335

Yes I did...and I'm a "former" n54 335 owner. Don't be confused, I'm referring to the n54, not the n55.

Yeah these motors are sooooooooo different. Both are inline 6 cyl, 3.0 litre turbocharged motors with forged internals. Apples to oranges

The single turbo n54's are making 650 wheel right now and they just came out...and the internals have nothing to do with these "low" numbers right now. These singles are going on daily driver cars like Sikh335, Captaininsano, CupertinoSteve and FBIS where these guys are getting full spool at 3,500 RPM and want to keep daily drivability. These are small 58 and 62mm turbos. The single turbo supra's making 1,000 wheel are at full spool much higher in the RPM band with much larger turbos. The n54's will keep pushing and pushing as we are just in the infancy of single turbo upgrades.

AND I've been in quite a few single turbo Supra's as well as Shiv's single turbo 335. He took me for a spin just after beating a Ferrari 458 Italia at Trona. The visceral experience and power delivery are very similar.

How many single turbo 335's have you driven in?

Food for thought.

Never argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
