Pulled over on 395

Okay so this evening on my way to Verizon Center I was pulled over by a state trooper. He stated that I was speeding 74 in 55 (which I was) and that I cut off a vehicle without giving my signal, I did not cut off any vehicle however when I changed lanes I did not give signal because it was almost 11 at night and there weren't many cars on the road. Heres the catch, both offenses were recorded as being part of Alexandria's jurisdiction and he has me going to Fairfax County court. What do you guys think? I may contact a lawyer who helped me in a pretty nasty battle a few years back but just wanted to hear some opinions.

Thanks,
Kais

well, you should get it clarified to the correct jurisdiction, I doubt you need a lawyer for that. I take Alexandria's fines are slightly less than Fairfax, or what's the issue at hand here?

Sorry to hear you got nabbed, but come on man, always signal. It does not require a lot of physical effort to press the turn signal stalk. It is a big pet peeve of mine. Nobody signals any more, can't get lazier than that.

Good luck with getting the fine reduced / removed.

! It takes no effort what so ever to push that lever and let others know where you are going.

Should've, otherwise I wouldn't have been in this mess. Will be meeting with lawyer on Thursday. Law states that I must signal if I'm moving into a lane which will affect the operation of another motor vehicle so if there weren't any cars behind me in that lane I can see that one being dropped hopefully. Will keep you posted.

So... you just got a speeding ticket? Just pay it and move on?

Nevermind... I see you got a ticket for the lane change... I don't see jurisdiction being the cause. State trooper can do whatever.

Yeah I know that just the fact that he pulled me over in Alexandria jurisdiction and wants me in Fairfax court. I know I got the speeding ticket no way out of that but the lane change/cutting off the van ticket he gave me is kinda bs. Insurance rates just dropped down and here we go again lol.

I was pulled over right after the 14th street bridge near the pentagon and went to Arlington court

If it was 75 instead of 74, it would have been reckless driving. Glad you dodged that bullet.
