Gas pump completes before tank is full

Hey all,

Noticed for awhile at certain times, the gas pump will always finish before the tank is actually full. Sometimes it complete at half a tank and 3/4 tank full. Just curious if there is a fix for this.

Thanks,
Brian

I sometimes have to hold the pump at a 90 degree angle to get it to keep pumping until full.

Tip it in from the rear.

Assuming the nozzle is all the way in the gas tank, it is likely the pump that is the problem and not your car. The blowback sensor on the pump is likely not working correctly causing it to think you are full when you are not.
