would you get F30 335i?
I like my M3. Perfectly fine and nothing wrong with it. Somehow I like newer cars than old ones. I find E90 dated inside out. Not torquey enough for city driving. I find my E90's ass pretty ugly from day one. I am running out of rubber on stock 18". I plan to get 19" ADV1 if you guys can persuade me keeping the M.

I love that new 335i. I'd wait until the M sport comes out though. The steering needs some tightening. Lease it for 3 years then get the new M3.

I find the back of the M3 sedan very sexy. That is one think that sold me on the e90 M3. The aggressive stance with comp package as well.
I do not find it out dated at all.

It's your money. Spend it how you like. It's still a "relatively" free country. For now.
If you like the new 335 better, then get it. I wouldn't, but what does that matter? I'm not financially affected one way or the other.

The new F30 M sport 335i with adaptive dampers may be my next car - the M3's residuals in the UK are dropping like a stone and with petrol prices going through the roof it is a change i am considering.

If you are looking for something all new and fresh you might want to consider something besides the F30. I found it to be an incremental upgrade on the interior which looks much the same and disliked the nose on the exterior. Were it me and financial prudence part of the consideration I would wait for the new M4. There is some hope the nose might look a little less awkward with the more aggressive air dam and such and you will be playing with a lot more power.
A thought in general, it sucks to go backwards and I'm thinking there is a good chance you will have the feeling of having done so once the dust settles. Combine that with the new M3/4 that will be coming along before too long and it isn't hard to imagine some dissatisfaction over the choice. Unless of course you have the means to flip cars every year. In that case just go with whatever you want, even if it is a bad choice, meh, its only a year and you're on to the next thing. |

BMW usually screws people who buy the first model year, I have a feelings that an incremental change coming next year will make the F30 a lot more appealing. Would I consider it, YES, would I trade my M3 for it, NO.

+1 I think it's hideous. Oh, and I would avoid ADV1. We all know how "stories" go, but I've heard more "stories" about ADV1 than I need to convince me to stay the hell away. Part of the reason I went with Strasse to begin with

I can't stand the current F30 - I'd rather have a F10 5er over the F30 3er as it stands (but not with the electric steering - which is why I have my M3). I know everyone says that "you'll warm up to it" but for me, I feel the same now as I did 5 years ago with the first E92 335i, and the E70 X5. I like the design even more now that I see where BMW is going. For me, I guess my taste in design doesn't change much from my first impression. I went to option a new F30 335i, and I think BMW is headed in the wrong direction with regard to optioning the vehicles (luxury, sport, modern, etc.,) and not offering all options on all cars - it's one of the bigger reasons why I buy the cars I do - because I can order them exactly how I want them optioned. |
