car went into production today :)

woohoo.... thanks to Mantis, I gave BMW customer services a call and lo and behold, I was told that my car went into production this morning.... I told her I just checked the OC status and it still reflected that it is just on order. She verified that the OC is a few days late in updating the vehicle's status and that she said that my car has an estimated completion date of March 10th.... I can't wait.... so, can anyone tell me how long from the 10th before I actually see my baby? this wait is killing me... I thought I already was done with the car waiting when I ordered my Mini Cooper a couple of years ago but this time, it's crazier....

Mine was finished 1/31 and should be at the Dealership March 6th. The norm has been 4-6 weeks usually closer to 4. Congrats and good luck. Welcome to the family!

I see you're in Santa Clarita, which dealer did you order from? Valencia BMW?

Nope... Valencia BMW is charging over sticker... I've had deposits in South Bay and another one up North but fortunately I was able to find one a little bit closer.... I actually have to drive to this dealer a couple of hours away.. which is not so bad... It'll give me a chance to get "intimate" with my new baby on the way home

It's at least 95%, and they're between 16 and 23 years old.

Great news! I need to call as well. My understanding was that my SG w/FR was to be built this week as well. The dealer tells me 4 weeks. Other strings on the forum indicate 4-7 weeks? It would be good to hear a report from KASM3 as to whether or not he gets his this week and how long his total wait was.

Also, for the record, moved from SF to Chicago last spring, moving back to SF next fall...more Californians.

Just curious and trying to make sense of the VIN sequence, is your VIN between 40466 and 40540? I'm guessing it's higher then 40540 is that correct?

What's the #? OC says mine just went into production today, but I'd love to know the expected completion date.

no big deal... as long as I know that it's in production already, I'm good. it's the actual waiting for the delivery thing that 's driving me up the wall
