Passenger footwell power point receptacle

The hole is there, but no guts inside.

Owners manual says car has one.

Anyone have a live one on their 2013?

I've never seen an M3 come with it. Some of them have the hole, some of them don't. Mine didn't.

I bought one from a wrecked 335 which had the socket installed with the bottom panel (I've tried to purchase that socket separately with no luck). Wired it to power and ground going to the cigarette lighter and it works perfectly. I use it to power my HD dash cam.

I assume that because the M3 has a lighter socket they omitted the passenger footwell socket. Other 3 series cars don't have the lighter. I'll check mine tommorow. Congrats on the Lime Rock, I thought about it.

From what I understand, early cars had it, but it went away with the cloth visors and seatback nets.

I think early non-M cars have it.

My 2008 M3 has the cloth visors (not sure about the seatback net, never sat back there), but had no hole for the lighter. Pretty much every other M3 I've seen that's 2010 and up has the hole but no socket there.

mdosu: I will try to take a pic and post it later.

I tried looking high and low to figure out what cars have it to retrofit it. Just ended up getting a power socket replacement with harness and will end up using that.

Nothing but nothing in that receptacle except air........would have been convenient.

Thanks.
I wasn't sure if only the 2008's had it or only the regular 3 series had it.
