yeap, powdercoated matte black. i didnt mean to powdercoat it but i had stone chips on my wheel after i went to a few track days. i hated these tiny imperfections all over the wheel so i powdercoated the wheels. the powdercoating seems to be lasting much longer than the stock paint job.

Well, three of the wheels showed up today, stacked outside my garage. The first thing I noticed was a hole in the top box (one of the 18x10s). Sure enough, upon inspection, whatever it was that caused the hole during shipping went all the way through and nicked the wheel! WTF UPS!?!?! I waited three months for these wheels, and now I'll probably have to wait another three months for a replacement. I'm fricking pissed.

That sucks.
Posts some pics of the wheels if you get a chance.
Are the Advans packaged well?

Yes, they were packaged well. Partly by Yokohama, and partly by Julius at WSTO, who added more security. In the end, if UPS wants to damage your goods, they find a way.

I hear that, they have damaged a few of my pieces before.

Sorry to hear that. I hope they take care of this BS. I know you waited a LONG time for them.

i had similar experience with my wheels. they where left in the driveway where anyone could steal them and the boxes where all beat to hell. luckily there was no damage to the wheels.

I asked them to leave them in my driveway with no signature required. They won't get touched, let alone stolen, where I live. My only worries were with UPS handling them, and as it turned out, my worries were well founded. I filed a claim and notified WTSO, and sent pictures. A UPS inspector is supposed to pay me a visit as follow-up to the claim, however, even if they replace it, it's not going to account for the time lost waiting for it to arrive. There goes my summer!

Those wheels are some of the best I've seen on the E92M. Wow. What's the best price for a set of 18s?

I ordered mine from Renn-Spec, they had the best price.
Mine should be here in 3 to 4 weeks. I ordered them about 4 weeks ago.
Specs are 18x9.5 and 18x10.

not that strong .... the 19's will bend on a nasty pothole .... especially that weird dual-channel outer lip (tough to fix).

18's should be better = more sidewall.

I am considering the same setup as STALKER ... but I was hoping to do a square setup with spacers (18x10) .... I have forged Volk's for the track, ... but i loove the 10-spoke design of the RS's .... especially my huge looking 19's

WHAT??
Having a wider track in the front will 'decrease' understeer (not 'increase')
and depending on the front to back track difference and chassis balance .... it will 'promote' oversteer.

I run 9.5 (265 R-Comp) Front ....and 10.5 (285 R-Comp) Rear ... and mid-corner the balance is surprisingly neutral .... enough so I can throttle-steer through the corner adjusting my trajectory for a fast exit.

That is right. I didn't type what I was thinking. Still not desireable. Still have not heard from UPS!

New Yokohama ADVAN RS's - Pics w/ R888's Mounted

Well, despite the claim with UPS for the nick they put in one of the rear wheels, I went ahead and got the Toyo R888's mounted today. Went with a road-force balance and nitrogen. In case you've haven't followed, here are the specs:
FRONT:
18x9, et24, 255/35

REAR:
18x10, et20, 275/35

I'll add pictures when they're on the car, but that might not be for a while now (was going to be tomorrow).

Great looking set up.
UPS really damaged the finish on that wheel.
Are you going to file for a new wheel, or refinish it?

That's not too low at all. In fact, it pushes out the wheels nicely.

Don't be a wimp.

I put my PSCs on to scrub in just in time for the rain. It just makes driving that much more interesting.
265/35-18 on 9.5 et35 w/12mm spacer in front
295/30-18 on 10.5 et25 in the rear
The wheels are BBS forged magnesium REs I have a second set optimized for an e46 M3 (rears are ET29) for sale if anyone is interested. 17 lbs a piece.
