so im assuming your getting pulled over on that car... drive your M3.. it might change.. LOL jk
but to be honest... you are probably lucky.... i suggest to slow down though. i know no one is on the road, but if you got a ticket i wont be sad about it. 80 on a 35 is pretty fast... but hey glad you got away... |

yup, it's always to your advantage to make them feel as comfortable as possible when stopped. I've gotten off quite a few times doing this as well.

I don't have to deal with getting pulled over at all, because I don't do 85 in a 35.

ANYBODY if you ever find yourself on the road doing a multiple of the speed limit believe me you don't belong on public roads with your state of mind/maturity/etc. I'm not sure how anybody can be so distracted as to not notice but I understand it happens but for ANYBODY who routinely finds they intentionally plan to speed so far over public limits (hint: you feel the purpose of a radar detector is to keep you out of jail) you need to sign up for some HPDE training and keep in on the track (you're typically the ones who show up to day 1 of HPDE with the biggest chips on your shoulder and end up eating the most cones!)
OP, the cop who told you it's better to speed on the highway at 2 AM did you no favor. You're much more likely to collide with a drunk who doesn't see you and turns into your path at 2 AM than 2 PM. |

Driving 100+ on an empty highway in the middle of the night is hardly unsafe. Either way, when the OP has his smooth riding CLS 63 AMG with 618 whp and a ludicrous amount of torque, finding yourself at 100+ isn't really hard. - KJ |

All windows down, keys on the roof, both hands out the window with license in one hand and registration in the other will make it much less stressful for the cop and maybe get you off, or it may back fire and just look like you've gotten in trouble a lot.

You may trivialize it, but more head-on collisions happen on the freeways like this than you would believe. |
