Wheel weight with VMR V710's
Guys, I think that I am going to make the move to the VMR V710's. 9.5 front and 10 in the rear. It seems like this will be about 10lbs more than the stock 19's. Do you think that the weight difference of 10lbs is significant? Well, would I be able to notice it. And I don't track the car.
Thanks!!! |

We've ran multiple sets of VMR wheels on multiple shop cars with no problems at all. In any case, the wheels are about 25lbs a piece and we did not feel any difference with VMR wheels as opposed to OEM wheels.

I agree. But the only problem is that the avant's 310 only come in 9.5 front and 11 rear. And no gunmetal. Would have to powder coat. I would assume that 11s on the rear would probably weight the same or more as the 10s for the vmr's. Sucks that they don't make a 10 rear and gunmetal. Decisions decisions.

I like the VMRs, just wish they were low pressure cast as the AGs are similary priced. Dave

Thanks for the opinion Dave. I ended up just going with the VMR's. The Avant's just didn't have the right size or color. Oh well, I'm sure I will like the V710's a lot. Kinda excited actually

This is my winter setup in 18s
I have gotten more compliments on these wheels than any other set I've owned http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...06&postcount=1

Stock 220's: 23lbs front 26.5lbs rear VMR 710's: 19.9.5x10's 28lbs front and probably 28.5lbs rear? So.....About 14lbs with same tires. For now. :roll eyes: Not trying to start the whole argument of unsprung weight, but from my research and reading the Car and Driver test on this same issue. I probably won't lose much in terms of 0-60 or 1/4mile with this setup. Oh well, they look good and there ordered, so screw it right?!!! Though I will make one quick point!!!! I believe that all of the vendors need to stop saying that these wheels way 25-26lbs. It is not true and they should either post real numbers with proof or just not say (i.e post above EAS). Good thing for me I did my research so I know what I'm getting into. Last edited by Flying05; 04-05-2012 at 04:36 PM.. |

VMR Wheels | Official Wheel Weights http://www.flickr.com/photos/vmrwhee...th/6349316706/ I didn't see 19x10 VMRs on the page so listed the 19x11 instead for reference. Obviously there are lighter wheels on the market, it strictly depends on your specific budget you are working with. We've been using VMRs for years and have nothing but praise for them.
