Question BMW Performance Steering Wheel... Should I buy it before the car?

Ok, here's the deal. I'm going to be ordering a 2010 e92 M3. One of the mods I'm definitely going to do, is upgrade to the BMW Performance Steering Wheel. I'm obviously going to be selling the old steering wheel.

My question is... Would it be wise to order the Performance Steering Wheel before I get the car? That way I can immediately install the new wheel, and the existing steering wheel would still be considered "new". I'm thinking the resale value of the old wheel would be considerably higher (vs. a used one). What do you guys think?

well a one day old steering wheel vs a one month old steering wheel might get you a 'little' more but not that much to be honest.

Try getting it specc'd with your car when you buy it and ask that the dealer charge you you the part upgrade price + install cost.

Not sure there's a deep market for M3 steering wheels... wrecks or jealous 335 guys?

Prices aren't getting any better (rising Euro). Can't hurt.

As the others have said, you're not going to gain much by having a brand new steering wheel vs a well taken-care of version.

It's only rising because the USD is weak on the world market. It's not the Euro's fault that the US caused a worldwide recession.

If you can, but something that will be worth something in 5 to 10 years. Hopefully we'll have pulled out of it by then. If not, it won't matter anyway.
