It's not too shabby stock. Clean and classic, the look that ages the best.

Haha glad to see there are others on the same boat. I've done little things to my M3 that I can actually enjoy everyday. Did the ZHP knob (from previous car so it's free), rep ZCP splitters (a must IMHO) and bypass OEM exhaust mod. Oh and a $700 throttle actuator. So I'm out for a while.

What I REALLY want are 19" MORR V8.2. Needless to say, I can't justify buying one of those yet when I have to spend a few thousand overhauling the E30

Still love my M3 though. I was just thinking this morning there's no other car I'd really want other than the new M6. But in terms of reliability, looks, performance, sound, it's the perfect car for me right now. So I'm more than happy with it.

Oh I'm not that cool unfortunately. I've got a 325iC that I essentially found on the side of the road. Got it as a project car.... you get what you ask for I guess!!

I was dismayed how the mats that came with my m3 did not have any M3 logos. But I try to be practical also and not waste my mats. So instead of getting M3 mats I found this china made M3 aluminum plates for $7 bucks and installed them. I think they look great for a small fee. Maybe when I pay it off in five I can mod with cooler branded stuff.

Did buy a Matte Black M3 emblem yesterday...hoorah!
Well then, its a good thing that you own a car like the M3 which really needs no mods to perform well. Alternatively, you could sell your M3, buy a Honda Civic and have $30k left for mods. This is the first car I have owned that I truly feel needs no mods. Sure you can mod it, but it is really not deficient in anything such that it needs to be modded. Even my previous RS4 was a bit weak in the suspension department. I have done just a few cosmetic mods, put in a high flow air filter and changed out the tires. Thats it. I am thinking about a catback exhaust, but then I also think: Do I really want to spend $3-4k on a mod that gives me no real power gain and just serves to attract the police?

I am in the same boat. I pretty much did the basics to get it where I wanted and cost me another $10,000 on top of the car. Now I am back to exotic firearms.

When I was in my 20's I didn't care and spent thousands and thousands and was in car magazines, won at HIN, etc. Now that I am over 30 I have no motivation since I was at the top of that game in 2004-2006. Its boring now. lol House and X5 fill the void now.

Similar situation here. I used to spend big $$$$ on mods. Over $30k each on an Audi S4 and a 350Z. Now, I will just buy a higher end car to begin with. The issue for me isn't that I don't have the interest, it is just that mods add no value whatsoever to the resale value of a car. In fact, even big ticket mods can lower the value of your car compared to stock. It can also make a car that much harder to sell when you do. I can no longer justify throwing away that kind of money. It's funny that I was willing to spend more money on mods when I was earning less. If I buy a car and find, by chance, that it is deficient in something, I will still mod to eliminate the deficiency, but if I really want a better car, I am more inclined to just buy the better car.

Im in your same boat. Have two little ones and now expecting the third. Got a set of lux angel eyes and IND black kidney grills but that was it. Most expensive addition was a set of 18" winter wheels, which as you said are a necessity rather then a mod.....

OP are you planning on keeping the car long term? If you are then dont stress! Take your time cause at the end of the day modding is not a race.
I for one am planning on Supercharging once warranty is out, but that will be 3-4 years aways..

Over the years, I realized, cars that maintain their stock appearance tend to look better in the long run; especially after 15+years.
I was looking at a "stock" E34 M5 about couple of weeks ago. Car looks so darn good.
Thus, if you can't afford it, or if you can't justify dumping money on mods, then save it, and spend it on something else in life that you can appreciate more.
