Alekshop: 2011 E93 - V1 Radar Mirror and iPhone Integration

On this 2011 E93 M3 we decided to install Valentine 1 Radar Mirror with V1 custom enclosure and connect it all to iPhone.

As anticipated, everything works great

V1 Mirror

V1 Enclosure

at the end we added front and rear cameras and exhaust cutouts to bring V8 rumble to life

Aleks.

Nice mods.

The app appears to be RadarActive, free on the iTunes store.

Nice car (it's mine.) Aleks did a great job.

Yes, the iPhone app is RadarActive (http://radaractive.com/). There's a module that connects the V1 to the iPhone and it automatically reports radar signals back to their database. You can use the app without the V1 and just report traps manually.

tlr,

Do you use bluetooth to make phone calls from your iphone in your car? How does that work while using the app and the radar transceiver.

What is the difference of how well the radar detector works since it is mounted in the enclosure VS the Dome light?

Looks good guys, can't wait till my cutouts come in!!!!

Is the V1 enclosure made from a OEM headliner cover? I have been wanting to make something like that for my Z4M. Any hints as to where and what parts I should get to make my own? =D

Yes it's a BMW part. You'll have to ask Aleks exactly which one.
