The dealer told me prod had started first, and he did confirm all the specs and packages from the Sept build sheet.

Just for grins, I called BMW NA, and they also echoed the build date, but did not seem to know how to look up the specs. Less than helpful.

Car shows up online with the new options as well.

Good to know. My CA and BMWNA told me the same information you noted above. I'm thankful we now have confirmation from 2 separate dealers that Sept. updates are in fact being incorporated into builds for late July. I wasn't sure if my CA was just blowing smoke up my a$$ or not...so thanks again for the input!

No prob, I'll post more updates here as I get any more information from the dealer, NA, or online.

I hope the cars are finished and shipped before the shutdown for August. Prod should be done by the end of the week on these cars.

No, have not heard back. Pretty sure Tuesday is his day off so I'll circle back in the AM. Code 112 means scheduled for production but it does not indicate an estimated date. I swear looking over my CA'a shoulder there was a date on his screen but it's not on the print out. And I didn't really pay attention as I was taking his word for it that is was Sept production with the new options.

I'll follow up tomorrow...

Edit: Similar to the_saint, I have confirm from CA on specs and BMW website shows those (most of them!) as well. BMWNA simply said started production with out providing other details, including date production started...

Is BMW finally doing something about your car?

Wow, does this mean BMWNA has finally stepped up and is swapping out your car? About time!

A day later it switched to my M3 sedan.
Just looked at my production sheet and it shows code "112" as well.

OK, my CA doesn't usually get in until around 9 (central) so I'll check in with him then...

Very tentative... and without support of BMWNA, my dealer in NY has been AMAZING to me. Hopefully it all works out, I should know more today or tomorrow.

What are you thinking this means in the grand scheme of things? Are you concerned that the order was taken as part of a previous allocation?

That is the million dollar question! I don't think there was an intentional effort to sell an earlier allocation just because it was available. This will be my fifth car from this dealer, they know a good customer when they see one. Could be that BMW has the parts and is simply building the cars earlier than the September date. I'll let you know what he says. As I recall, the dealer could always get the latest update on the car while the website and even the BMWNA rep on the phone could have incorrect information. On Monday I added Sirius to my order and it shows up on the website so it is updating and it still shows "on order". But then on my last car it showed "Awaiting transport" the day the car arrived at my dealer!

My car went into production on July 5 and was completed July 9. I did not order ZTP and I am wondering if I will be getting M Drive standard (M Drive is reportedly standard as part of the Sept. changes.) That would be SWEET! Does anyone know on what production date the september changes became effective? Or did you have to order prior to the changes being announced to get the new features? This is really frustrating.

Don't have an answer for you McLovern. Hope to talk to my CA shortly to get more info. The "official" announcement was made on July 9th, the day your car was finished...

I know!! WTF!! I called and e-mailed my CA. He is not really detail oriented so I doubt he will come up with anything useful, but I will let everyone know what he says.

Maybe it went in for the paint already and will sit in the dry rack while the factory shuts down? And then roll through assembly as soon as they reopen?

That doesn't make much sense though.

BTW, forgot to mention this, my CA told me he had my VIN number too... I was in the car and didnt have a pen handy. He is going to email it to me, but I may call as well and get him on the phone so I can see if the status code has changed or if I have a end date for prod.

OK, just got a vague response to my email, will phone for some clarity! My CA indicated the car "is still a Sept build although it is no longer modifiable"...

I thought you could modify right up to the beginning of production? More to follow!

I think that means it is in production currently, but includes the Sept. updates. You are correct that modifications can be made right up until it goes into production.

I was told my order was accepted and was given a 111 code from BMWNA. My dealer has my car built with the old pkgs, we have not gone over the pkgs yet as for sept build. If I am code 111 will this be a sept build for sure.

If your car has not begun production at this point, I would say you are definitely getting the Sept. updates. However, I'm not sure how the CA was able to build the car with the old specs...I know my CA could only build the car with the new Sept. specs when I placed my order on 7/20.

When was your order placed?
