Actually they do comes in 9".

Look under 335i on tirerack, they will show up.

They are 9" wide, with a 35mm offset.

Not sure why they don't show up under the E9x M3.

My bad. Probably they don't show them because they are not ideal for stock M3 tire sizes. Would definitely work for a track set, though.

Well, this is a TR Motorsport Wheel thread, and he said he wen with my "option 2".

Two questions for hte OP; 1) how did you get the Roundel in the wheel centers?, and 2) where did you get your spacers?

Thanks,
Dale

I'm not worried about the speedo, just noted it will be more off.

The MT does come in 9" just doesn't show on their site yet. Must be new, but they do exist. In fact, they shipped today.

1) The Tire Rack includes the roundel center caps with the rims for o extra cost.
2) I got HRE spacers from Turner: www.turnermotorsports.com

One quick question please -

Do you thinik that the Tirerack combo - TR 18X10 with 275/35/18 BFG R1s will work okay on the front of the 2009 E92 coupe? You mention some rub on the E90, so just wondering if the front clearances are the same on both cars.
Thanks

I would think so but I have zero evidence. I haven´t measured if there are any differences in wheel well size between the E90 and the E92.

Thanks much. I think that all will work fine. I note on Turner they have a wheel/tire combo which is exactly the same, and they say works well on their cars.
Spoke with Tirerack today and their tirerack combo cost hard to beat. Probably the way I will go.

I saw your other post in the MDM is useless thread. I wanted to let you know that I also feel MDM is useless and also let you know that because you were running a square setup that did not maintain the difference in overall diameter between the front and rear wheels the MDM/DSC would work differently than if you were on the stock tires. This means that the wheel speed between the fronts and rears is going to be closer than the computer expects. This could be the reason you felt the MDM wasn't intrusive and worked great.

A buddy of mine runs TRMotorsport 18x9.5 front and 18x10 rear (with Nitto 275 tires) on his E46 M3 and came over to my place today to do a fit check on my car.

The 18x9.5 did not fit in the front. The inside of the rim hits the strut. We did not try them on the rear. In any case, spacers would definitely be required for the front with 18x9.5.

We installed the 18x10 and the fit seems fine. I drove with them a bit and could not feel or see any rubbing, even at full lock. The car has a stock setup, including camber. "BMW M Power Mexico" mentions some slight rubbing. This may be due to the 1.4 deg camber he is running.

I really like the wheels and will probably get them soon. I am still undecided whether I want to go 265 or 275. will probably go with 275 though.

BTW, big thanks for "BMW M Power Mexico" for a nice writeup. Very helpful.

Here is pic with the wheels on:

TR M1's + R1's came in - I've attached some pics and info, considering there seems to be some interest.

Front: 265/35, 18x9 +35
Rear: 275/35, 18x10 +25

I would have liked to go 285/35 rear to keep the width ratio the same, but the 285s only came in 30 and that brings the rear wheel height shorter than the front. With this set up, I lose less than 2% wheel height front, and almost 3% rear - thus the fr/bk ratio is tighter. Front is now a little more than 1% smaller than the rear. Stock, front is little more than 2% smaller.

I am not running any spacers front or back and as BMW Mexico states with his set up - the front barely clears the strut. I measured about a 1/4". Not sure if this is too tight, but it does clear through opposite locks (pic attached). Rears fit with no problem. I do lose track in the front - 12mm from stock, only 4mm back - so 9mm difference fr/bk versus stock of only 1mm+ rear. Not sure if that will cause understeer considering the widths and the nearly square set up. We'll see.

I don't have the weights of the tires, but there are obvious benefits with this set up from the wheels alone. I'm heading to the track this weekend. I'll provide an update afterwards.

Looks good. I am looking forward to your track report.

Why did you decide on 265/35, 18x9 instead of 275/35, 18x10 for the front?

Correct me if I'm off, but it looks like 18x10 all around works. 9.5" does not fit up front, but 9" BARELY fits up front.

I can confirm the " it looks like 18x10 all around works. 9.5" does not fit up front" since I tried it yesterday. Not sure about the 18x9 since I have not tried them.

I am purchasing a set in 18x10 and run 275/35/28 r comps

But with my aggressive coilover and track alignment with camber at -2.2-2.5 ish setting will the wheels still clear the strut?
looks like everyone in this thread don't have any suspension mods and run the wheel and tire set stock

Thanks. I am looking forward to my track day too!

Originally, I wanted a 265/285 f/r set up. The 10's up front do work, but I didn't want to add spacers to the rear to keep the car's track close to stock (10's really push the wheel out a bit more). Plus, by my math the 10's up front would be even closer - by 3mm.

Since BMW Mexico didn't have trouble at the track, I'm expecting not to have any problems either. Let's hope.

Also, just don't think I need that much tire up front. Square really sounds good to save on money, but this package is such a good deal - not sure it's necessary. I'm hoping for good balance. We'll see.

I calculated the 10's would come even closer to the strut than the 9's with a 35 offset. At 25, the 10's show a distance of 152mm wide from the hub, versus the 9 at 149.

Either way, very close. Short of strut or tire failure, they shouldn't touch - in theory anyway.

BMW M Power - I see you had the front camber changed to -1.4. Did you change the rear camber? Is the rear adjustable? Also, are you running your stocks again and how is the wear on those not that you changed it?

You're welcome.

I think the rubbing in my case is because the BF Goodrich R1 tires are larger than the Nittos. I remember there is a thread about that somewhere in the forums here.

Great setup. It seems you will be fine without spacers. Let us know about how the car feels on the track.

These wheels + tires are noticeably lighter than stock. I could feel it when changing them.

I'd alos be interested in wear front vs. rear which is the main reason I went square.

I don't think more camber will affect stock clearance. I am no expert but as far as I understand to adjust camber you actually change the strut angle, no? So everything would move together and not affect clearance.
