E90 M3 from Dealer with 307 miles
Hey guys, looking for opinions here.
Looking at the following vehicle purchased at auction by Paul Miller BMW in Jersey. SA states it was a BMWNA performance delivery center car. Question is it has only 307 miles on it, to few to be a track car, could it have been some display car there? Car was placed in service in August 2011 VIN: WBSPM9C5XBE203927 Chassis Number: E203927 Line Make: 01 - BMW Model Year: 2011 AG Model Code/Desc: PM93 - M3 Sedan NA Model Code/Desc: 1154 - M3 Sedan Exterior Color Code: 300 (Alpine White) Interior Trim Code: NCSW (Black Novillo Leather) MSRP: $70,925.00 New Vehicle Warranty Info No Coverage As Of: 08/15/2015 Expiration Mileage: 50,000 DAVIS #: 0 Assist Safety Plan expires: 00/00/0000 Assist Conv. They are asking $63K which is high but been looking for a replacement since I sold my 2011 E90 last Spring. If this car is Legit might be the closest one to new still out there... |

Yea I hear you..alot more damage results from cars just "sitting" around. For that kind of money why not get into something new?

yea man, besides the low mileage man, u have to think about it, its still 2 years old and not a brand new car.....i agree with the post above. What has it been doing for the last 2 years or lets say it was a late model 2011, a year and some months......for that much cash u can get a crisp new car, a e92 possibly but im guessing you want the 4 doors.....price is too high in my opinion. gl tho

The auction part always scares me. Could be a repo I guess.

I don't remember any display cars at the performance center. You could try asking the guys at the performace center about it. They have a section on the bimmerfest website that they monitor and respond to.

since it's an auction car, that means the car likely was traded in or repo'd. The 2 years of dormancy is perplexing. Do you know how many times it has been auctioned?
There's a chance dealers took this car at auction and just sat on it thinking they can get good $ out of it. |

Auctions are not really a bad thing. Many cars that go through an auction are in great condition. Unless you're buying it site unseen or without a PPI I wouldn't worry about that part of it.

I've bought multiple BMWNA program cars (not dealer, but manufacturer) and they are usually owned by the sales team that travel to dealers. That mileage is insanely low so it's unlikely to be one of those cars. But it may be the right amount to be a year of track duty at the performance center. Think about it - when one picks up a car at the PC, they give you a similar model to run around the PC in. So how many people bought e90s? Then how many sessions did it have on the track?
If that logic holds, what you have is a car that was beat on, prior to break-in period, by various people and then it sat a lot. I'd walk away from this. The mileage is attractive, but I think those were hard miles. Usually BMW program cars are 11k-15k in mileage BTW. And yes, all are auctioned off. If you're lucky to have one from the GA auction, you'll be first owner on the title/record. If NJ then it will already be titled so you'll be second. |

I suspect that the car was just dealer traded once or twice. I wouldn't worry about it too much, although it's a small red flag - you never know how a used car was broken in... but that is true of one with 100 miles or 100000 miles.
But, it looks like the dealership also punched the warranty on the car in 8/2011. "New Vehicle Warranty Info No Coverage As Of: 08/15/2015" I think they're just holding out for someone stupid... mid high $50s tops, since it's warranty coverage is ticking away. |

Another strange thing is the picture has the regular 19" wheels not the ZCP wheels, and it has ZCP. Dealer said thats how it came and they were going to install a set of new ZCP rims before delivery. |

Assuming this is the same car they paid $54,500 plus auction fees, so I'd say you have some room to negotiate unless they want to hold out.

I almost bought this car. It has a clear carfax. Its build is 5/2011, and was used as a BMWNA fleet Vehicle. It is BEAUTIFUL, and FLAWLESS. I drove it last week. It was spectacular. So why the heck didn't I buy it: 1. I have a 335xi and for the "daily driving" using under 4000rpm I really just didn't feel that much of a difference to justify #2 2. <20mpg highway, <250miles/tank. Gas tank is only 16.1 gallons, same as any other e90 3. I have only driven this on the track, and for the first time on the street I realized that I would probably do something dangerous with that type of power. 4. I still felt a little uncomfortable knowing that in over 1.5 years it had its fluids and tires just sitting. Just seemed weird. I negotiated a reasonable deal (more so on my trade), but unfortunately it just didn't make sense to me for right now. It also didn't have the advanced premium sound, which alone to me is a dealbreaker - I drive >15,000 miles and the sound compared to the HK was just disappointing. So keep in mind it is NOT advanced premium sound, it's standard. This is the perfect car. It's basically like getting a new car 10K off MSRP. Interior is impeccable. Its warranty is good until 50K miles, and 8/15 if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately it is ineligible for CPO since it's a fleet vehicle, although extended warranties are available. So for me, this was ALMOST the perfect fit. After driving it I realized that it didn't feel any more fun with daily driving than my 335xi (I also have PPK), and I would suffer greatly at the pump in doing so. It basically secured my decision that my next vehicle will either be the F80 M3 (assuming low end torque makes it more fun to drive under daily driving), 550xi, or M5. If you are seriously looking into an M3, just get it. There's still that little piece of me that was so upset leaving the dealership that day. I still feel like I made the right decision - I still have 60,000 miles on my warranty, and 28mpg highway to enjoy. Feel free to PM me with any questions of the vehicle, I spent quite some time with it and drove it as well. And I can tell you right now, they're not budging with price. Fair market value for this vehicle is about 60K, not 63. They also have a 1M coupe w/ 6000 miles at about the same price point. Last edited by Professor///M; 02-08-2013 at 07:08 PM.. |

just a side note, do a good search
Here we had a red 11 E90 M3 with only about 6000 miles, which isn't too low but still very low. research found out this car had odometer fraud, busting miles backwards
