Drove it around the lot

My M3 coupe arrived today. Of course, I went to the dealer for a long look. I had already seen the launch cars but wanted to see it in Space Grey with the 19s. I have to say that it is very striking in person. I drove there in my 335 xi coupe, which I parked next to the M. The M3 makes my 335 look very sedate. The only part that I prefered was the hood of my 335, as the dome on the M is a bit big for me. Once inside the car, the dome becomes even larger to the eye. I can't say that I like this.

My car had not been prepped yet, so I only went for a very short drive around the parking lot. My first impressions are that the steering is far too assisted. I hope, as I have heard, that as speeds increase, the steering gets better. The clutch pedal was remarkably light. I realize that people had already commented on this, but I was still very surprised how light it actually was. I had to check to see if I had actually depressed the pedal. I am sure that this will become normal to me, but the steering was way to luxury for my tastes.

My limited experience with the shifter left me thinking that it was somewhat precise and that the throws were shorter than my 335.

Not much new to my review as my drive was very limited and many of these experiences have been previously posted. I just thought that I'd share what I felt.

I don't know if you should congratulate you or not since I am not sure if you will buy the car or not. You've been on the fence. Are you buying it?

I have to decide by Mon. Don't get me wrong, the car looks incredible and I am confident that it will be a joy to drive.

My decision could have been made for me. I found a used 2006 911 C4S Cab, with an original MSRP of $130k. It had 4997 miles and was in cherry condition. I was about to buy it for $78,000.00, when I learned at the last minute that another sales person had a pending deal. It the Porsche deal falls through, that is where I am going. If you really hunt these cars, super deals come along. Georgeous car.

I'll congratulate on Monday then if you buy the car. No congrats for you now!

I can see the point of getting the 911 cab given summer's here and you've a GTR on the way as your performer. Are you set on that by the way?

I will expect a celebration if I get the car. The GT-R is all set: June or July.
