E93 Convertible top physically stuck...

Never had this issue before on my 335i or the Z4...

After a few tries it poped out of that spot and opened normally...

I have an apt to take it in next week.

I'm confident it just need some lube (that's what she said..sorry hard to resist).... but yeah.

Anyone else experience this before?

I have an idea of why it happened... Pretty hard day at Streets of Willow over the weekend.

M3 buddy who was behind me was telling me how I was pretty much hooping around a little haha. i guess the flex and quick body position movements caused it.

Strange though cause I've had harder days at the track...and the Z4 never has had an issue after the track

Excuse my poor grammar, I'm tired

I've had this happen. It wasn't a big deal. All they did was lube it up and everything works like the day I bought it.

It's a term of endearment for one's car here in the states.

Are you parked on a flat surface? My top wouldn't close once because I wasn't. As soon as I moved the car -- the top closed no problem

No idea, they kept it overnight so they could test it in the morning so I mixed all the fun lube action.

I had the same problem with my 335 vert. Its not a big issue really. Just close it and try opening again whenever its stuck. It has to do with the flexing of the chassis.

No such problem anymore after I got me an E90 M3 and sold the vert

I miss the vert though

I've had the right side strike plat adjusted twice when this happened to me. Once last year and once this year. Pain in the neck when it happens. My SM says mine is the only one he's seen doing this. It doesn't seem all that common.

My SA actually had a similar case today and showed the lady my video and she said something similar happened to her

I can put it down just fine. it worked after a few tires, but it's not as smooth. I put some WD40 and it works great.

But I'll still have the dealer lube the whole thing up.

This happened due to the flex in the body from the tight corners while tracking at Streets of Willow

cloth tops are a POS. I will never own another soft top. Not only do they look rather shitty, but the amount of noise that comes in is horrendous compared to a hard top. I love convertibles but I will never again buy another soft top, not as a daily driver at least
