Haha. Well I found a local shop that will do it for $80 if I provide all the parts. Hawk ceramic pads that I ordered ended being on back-order. So I cancelled the order and purchased oem full rear brake package from a guy here in classifieds. I will just stick with stock for now. So moral of the story is to get the parts and DIY or find a local shop.

Hour labor for pads swap at max. I would also look at Project Mu NS/NS400 or their Euro Eco pad which is close to the NS. This is our favorite all around pad by far! Less dust than stock, and enough bite to take on light track duty or auto X. I've used these on most my personal cars for years. They cost a bit more than the HPS, but perform better and dust less.

The Hawk HPS are good street pads, but should not be used for aggressive driving or on the track! My preference is the StopTech Street Performance pads. These are good for both street and light track use. The only downside is increased pad wear (about 6-8 track days) with track use.
I change my own pads, but I think $80-100 might be reasonable.

Why would they be any different on this car?
Do they change the compound for each application? .

maybe he is refering to the pigish nature of the m3 and how it eats pads.

I do not think that the pads have different compounds for different applications, but in my particular case different calipers made a difference with the (apparently) same pad. |

The cold bite or lack thereof on HPS pads has been a common complaint for years through various makes of cars. It's interesting though, that with the many complaints, there are some that really enjoy the pads.

I have personally had the HPS on my car, and aside from them not being track pads, they were just fine for the street. What specifically does everyone not like about these pads?
OP, HPS would have been fine for DD.....OEM will dust alot more, as I'm sure you already know. |

How long would you guys say it takes to do replacement pads, stainless steel brake line install and brake fluid upgrade?
Approx how much in price? Will be requesting quotes for this job and want to make sure its with in a realistic price range. |

Not sure if you did but hey everyone drives differently. To some it might be good. i dont know... Ill let you know on my feedback after i installed mine. Since i drive 15 miles a day i might not see any difference.. who knows.

Thanks everyone for chiming in! But as I mentioned earlier I just ended up getting complete oem rear brake system for now since HPS were back ordered and would take 2-3 weeks. I will try them in 4-6 months when I will have time to wait if they are not in stock. oem will do the job for now. I hate so much dust though!! Sick of cleaning my wheels 4 times a week. Oh well.

Agreed. Not sure why anyone would use the HPS whent he ST pads cost about the same, have good initial bite even when cold, dust similar to HPS (a tiny bit more maybe) and can be tracked by most.

One more vote for stoptech. They are offered at a great price on amazon right now front and rear. I have some used ones that I won't be needing that you could try out if you want.
