Smile DIXIS: Titanium exhaust info

"The titanium muffler of E92M3 release was done. As for the sound which utilizes the quality of the S65B40A engine of V8, enters into the interior gentle sound of the adult. In addition with smooth cruising of the night, the cabin is wrapped with feeling good sound. If with sport plus mode it turns to DSC OFF, to the world of non every day trip! The capability of 420 ps OVER shows the quality which is only the real thing. It probably is the exhaust of dixis, supposing even to flux, to convert the ドロドロ sound of V8 to sound of organic function, to your sport mind to apply the fire."

^ Uhhh

English please...

Other than that a real design question. Could all of that welding of each individual piece to make those bends be the simplest, least expensive, least restrictive or even remotely the best way to form simple titanium bent tubes. Quite honestly those parts look like a terribly complex, one off sort of hack job.

Hack? I don't know the scientific answer, but all Ti exhausts I've seen have segmented rather than bent curves.

What is the total weight savings? There are references to -8 and -25 kgs?

All tubing, stainless, regular steel, aluminum or titanium can be bent "properly", however, thin wall Ti and SS present challenges. The equipment and tooling needed can be complex and expensive. It may even need to be hydroformed rather than using traditional tube bending techniques. Either way this segmented construction is clearly a hack.

I agree it doesn't look the best, but seems like on all Ti systems the tight bends are done that way. Probably a cost/volume issue. Only a large manufacturer doing lots of units could afford to hydroform. From Rogue Engineering site:

Titanium Exhaust Feature Pros
Extremely lightweight (between 12-26 lbs.)
Cool sound
Unique look
Will not rust

Titanium Exhaust Feature Cons
High cost
Frequent failure rate (cracking welds and hangers)
Difficult and expensive to repair (only to have it fail again)
Difficult to control sound
Difficult to mandrel bend

Whats included with that Price? Does it come with the Exhaust and Section 2
piping as I see in the Pic? or is the piping extra? Are they gonna have Sec 1 Available too for a Full Cat-back system? That would be nice....

Would you have any more sound clips? Driving Clips?

Also What are the Tip Sizes?

Thanks!
