I will try. I never can figure out how to post pics and video from my phone. I know you are skeptical but I have no reason to lie or blow smoke. We've spent years driving the glen in these cars. Not boasting or bragging, just want to tell you guys the capabilities of the cars we love.

I will run Harry's lap timer at group 52 and I will ask my cousin to help put some videos up and some aim data. My other cousin runs a 997 cup car with us. That animal runs 55's and 56's!!!!!!!! He races PCA and can drive. He also comes to nurburgring and spa every year with me. Fast car and guy. The cup is another world!!!!!!

Above another good guide to the line around Watkins Glen.
2:10 in a GTI with Josh Hurley. Describes his line quite clearly around the whole lap.

Thanks for the link. His lines are pretty much the same as yours in your video or my lines, exept he is using curbs a lot more aggressively.
Also, dont forget that car is a lot lighter than e9xm3, wich means he goes through turns quicker.
BTW, i was on my way to WGI on friday night, and after driving for 2 hours i decided to exit to one of the diners parking lots because of the wierd noise coming from the front left wheel. I was hoping it was something simple to fix, like loose wheel lug bolts or similar, but it was a wheel bearing
Ok to drive on the street, but not on the track, especially on WGI.
So, i had to go back home unfortunately. Was looking forward to test my brand new BFG R-1 tires and setting my new personal best lap time
Well, i have to wait till next year i guess.

These cars are nuts. I just ran 2:08 with just easy bolt on stuff and I know I left some time on the table. 2:05 sounds more attainable than I previously thought.

The setup:
Moton Street Sport Double Adjustable Shocks with 800# Front / 1100# Rear Springs
CMS Brake Cooling Ducts with PF-08 Brake Pads all around (Stock calipers and rotors)
275/35 18 Hankook Z214 C51 Tires All Around
Catless Midpipes and ACM Stock Exhaust mod
Epic Tune
Trunk lining and rear seat removed (just 2 bolts, 4 screws and a bunch of clips and its out!)
Weight: 3,600 lbs with driver and 1/2 tank of fuel

Great run, what event/ group were you with ( all the other cars were fast too).

I ran with NASA on Friday ( HPDE 3/4) with a lot of traffic and the average traffic pace was 2:26 ( each requiring a delayed point by). Not a good group to do a time trial with..... ( at least this day...)

The same NASA event, but on Saturday we lined up TT grid by lap time. Sorts out a lot, especially on a 3.5 mile track.

If you run data and your stuck with traffic, cut the track into sectors and then look at theoretical best lap. That should give you a good idea of pace.

So far the motons feel great! I just slapped them on last week. I had Angelo from ANZE Suspension rebuild them (I had purchased them used from a forum member). They eat curbs for breakfast, like turn 1 apex and track out, the entire bus stop, track out at Turn 10..., which I think is the true sign of a good shock.

How do you like these tires, how many track days do you think you will get out of them, and do they cycle out?

What do you think, haven't heard much about these and they are cheap.

I have been using them for 3 years now, and I love them. The most I got out of them with using camber plates on a stock suspension, and BBK around a 2:11 lap time was 6 days at the glen. of course using a sq set up and rotating etc. For some reason when I use the r6's I get uneven wear patterns. Another option are turners continental scrubs.

This was my first event ever using this tire, but I can say they felt great and didn't get too greasy, although I was not pushing for entire sessions (Bertha's a big girl and everything seems to get tired if I go 30 minutes without giving her a breather...).

I got these tires used with a few heat cycles on them from a friend with a GTS3 e46 M3 race car. So far wear looks normal, but I will have to get back to you on how long they last and if they have a huge drop off in grip as they heat cycle out.

thanks

been happy with the long lasting NT-01's, but wouldn't mind something stickier if the life is not too bad

were you car number 62 at the glen?

Great run! I had Moton's on my previous M3 and they were definitely a great set up. You are running quite a bit of spring!
I think I need to run the Glen when the weather is a little cooler too - seems like every time we go its crazy hot!
I ran the conti take off slicks the last time and corded them - they were at their lifes end and didnt seem to have much grip left in them. My completely worn RS3's were much quicker.
I have a full exhaust and the dinan sleeve over on this car - no weight reduction as the car is stock otherwise but it does feel good on the track.

Haven't heard much about those tires - glad to hear some feedback on them.

Cant wait to get back to the Glen next year!

Just got around to looking at my videos and found a couple in the 2:20's and one I believe in the 2:19 area, so I'm pretty happy considering the conditions and the dry laps I got, or lack thereof...left a ton on the table as didn't really push to hard through any of the corners (listen to how quiet the tires are)and never quite figured the "bus stop" out. Hit a bit of traffic and was hard to develop a rhythm, but I've got to say this is one of the best tracks yet! Off to Road America next

Not sure what happened, humidity I guess, but enjoy the spooky tunnel fog effect

Thanks. Pretty happy and will definitely have another round at the glen. Mid-Ohio will be done next year and then, after Watkins again, I guess it will be time to head west...I really feel a mid teens is possible on street tires at WGI, but the 2:10 or lower will require stickier rubber and coilovers. Great to meet you and your videos helped me a ton. Cya next year

You guys have some crazy fast lap times and great videos too! My fastest lap times are in the low 2:20s. I've only been to WGI twice but I'm already hooked. It's the best track on the northeast hands down imo.

Here's my latest visit to WGI with NASA back in late Sept.

welcome any advice/comments!
