Upgrade from an 08 to a 2012
Hey guys,
I am thinking of trading in my 08 m3 to lease a 2012 M3. Honestly, I like the DCT, but am a little bored with it and want a true manual. I have about $7,500 in equity on my car. Two questions 1) Is the 2012 worth the upgrade? 2) what do you think my monthly payments should be with my 7500 down and a 36 month/ 10k mile per year lease |

Wait for the new one or get a totally different car (like a GT-R). Not really worth it for essentially the same car sans newer navigation and plug-in features. Car still drives the same and acts the same. I went from a 2008 to 2011.5, and I pretty much feel like I have the same exact car.

I'll consider assigning the lease on my '11 JB convertible, loaded, Dinan Stage 2 Suspension Mint condition car, only ~ 15 months left on lease. Great way to have s/t lease on much newer car with reduced lease rate. additional pics available if interested

i totally agree with latebraking get a gtr , u will like the gtr for the performance but u will get a little frustrated with noise and rattling inside the gtr. the germans are a much better built. i have a 2009 gtr and i hardly drive that car because the noise coming from the tranny, basically theres noise everywhere and its annoying (i bought it brand new ) because i m so fed up with the noise ,i just pick up the 2009 m3 sedan last week. |

My younger brother has a 2008 and I have a 2012. They are both manual and they do feel and ride the same. The differences are in the details - and if this is important to you then I say go for it By the time the lease is up (3 yrs) it'll be perfect timing for the new M3 :-)
I like my 2012 because of: - Navigation perks are awesome - Google Mapping integration, bluetooth, etc.... - 6Spd Manual ROCKS :-) Totally different feel from a DCT - I picked everything myself and love my Competition Package :-) oh and about your financing questions: Hit up Ryan Amico at Steve Thomas. Best pricing and FANTASTIC service! He has shipped all over the country to very happy and satisfied buyers 805-482-8878 Heres my baby:

Depends on your goals...
You want to lease for $31-2k @ 3 yrs. but not own it or have a trade-in for cash (then lease it). Some convenience, some extra gadgetry...etc. I had the new CIC nav. in 09' and went down to 08' and it was fine for me. Like my bro said, engine, ride, all the same... For a little more money, you can own and get some change later for a trade-in. At the end of the day, it's about the V8 NA engine, 6MT, chassis. The other extras are nice, but not worth new car price IMO. I got to spend the extra $$ on sweet mods instead! The key is to find a pristine, clean, and CPO car for low 40s, high 30s - they are out there, but you've got to work for it. New M3, 2015 is out in 3yrs, but like ALL M3s - the "Mark-Up Premium" factor is around for a bit... Last edited by S65V8; 12-12-2011 at 07:56 PM.. |
