*Active Autowerke E9X M3 Signature X Pipe Kit w/ High Flow Cat & Race Pipe Option*

Dear Board,

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted. I want to thank all of you who have either placed orders or showed interest in our the AA Signature Exhaust System for the M3 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167350 . We have completed our X Pipe Prototype which will include a High Flow Cat and Race Pipe option that can be swapped out via V Band Clamps. We were able to increase with this free flowing design with the added scavenging affect of the X pipe itself. Pricing has not been finalized at this point, once pricing is available I will update this post. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to ask.

Key Features:

100% Polished 304 Stainless Steel
Comes with X Pipe and High Flow Cat
V Band design Make Changes Easy
Includes all hardware
The system will bolt up to our Signature Exhaust system.
Increase of 12+ rwhp on our Mustang Dyno with the Race Pipe option.
The High Flow Cat showed an increase of roughly 8-9 RWHP.

These pictures are not the best but you will understand the concept. This is a prototype unit, the production pieces will be the same finish as our other exhaust systems.

High Flow Cat & Race Pipe ( Interchangeable )

X Pipe

Bolts up to Active Autowerke Signature Exhaust System Shown Here

Here is a video with the Xpipe (Race Pipe) option.

What's the clearance between your x-pipe and the heat shielding? And do you have dynos available?

I was going to have a custom set made, but (1) without 'rolling' the x-pipe down, there would be contact with the heat-sheilding, and (2) it would seem that the gain with hi-flow or straight removal of the second cats wouldn't be worth the expense given the main cats are still in place.

Anyway, would appreciate more info as it becomes available. Thanks!

Dear Rich,

There were no clearance issues with the X Pipe but I will look into getting you some close up shots. As far as the design is concern the primary cats are eliminated with the straight pipe option as well as the secondary cats.
With the High Flow Cat option the primary cats are replaced with a high flow cat and the secondary cat is still eliminated. I will post the dyno in a day or two. I just need to wait for engineering to give me the charts. Thank you for showing interest and please feel free to ask if you have any other questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

Omar,

Thanks for the info! Will you be offering a o2 sim as well? And out of curiousity, did this trigger any of the E9x 'phone home' issues?

Thanks again!!!

When going catless is there a drop off in low end torque by not running primary cats off the header?

No there was no drop off in torque. We tested a design with larger piping which resulted in a slight drop off in low end torque. We opted for this final design to increase peak HP and to maintain low end torque.

More backpressure does not equal more torque. This is a pretty common myth.

It is quite a bit louder with the straight pipe option while driving wide open, under normal cruising conditions there is a deeper tone but not annoying. With the catless option it is basically the same as a car with just our exhaust system.

X Pipe and Exhaust-
