Thumbs down Side gills and sticker issue

I just bought a set of gloss black side gills and pair of OEM M3 stickers for them. Well, it appears The M3 sticker wont fit into the placement area for the sticker. My sticker is 1-2MM too long.

Im told that all aftermarket gills come from the same company so how are you guys dealing with the sticker not fitting? Are you cutting it? If so, does it bubble, fray or cause any issues doing so?

If the sticker doesn't fit, then the gills are not worth installing. Sounds like a cheap part.

I settled. It's the only gloss black solution out that that I'm aware of. I had to cut the sticker with fingernail clippers then file it smooth with finger nail clippers to make it work. It came out "ok".

most of the grills I have installed all have the issue due to being non-OEM. If you are careful you can get it to fit pretty well but you're right it's not exact.

IND sells OEM gloss black edition side gills.

I had the same problem as you on a pair of aftermarkets. I thought about cutting the sticker to make it fit but then I realized they were junk. I sent them back and then gave IND a call. Problem solved.

Ok, but I forgot to mention to get the OEM you have to buy the entire gill and it comes with M3 stickers already attached.

Are you talking about the "edition" ones? If so, those are black chrome. Which I thought about buying but the look brown at certain angles in the sun and they dont really match with anything on the car.

BMW makes gloss black grills called "performance grills" but they don't offer a performance gill set.

To get matte or gloss gills, you are forced to buy aftermarket.

I had the same problem with a carbon fiber set.

I ended up having to dremel out a bit of inner plastic and force the lighting unit as far back as possible.
