TE37 SL 10.5 ET22 on Rear?
Anyone running the TE37 SL 10.5 ET22 with 285's on the rear? Interested in any issues or problems. I know ET20's are preferred, but they are not readily available to me whereas the ET22's are.
Any comments, concerns, issues appreciated. |

Fits with no problems at all. We have run these on our M3 with Pilot Sport 285 width tires. Some 295 or 305s will be really close or can potentially run the inner plastics depending on the tire model and camber settings. |

also you don't want to run 275F/285R combo ... for square setup go 275 on all 4 corners , for staggered setup go 265/285 or 275/295 ... |

Some guys don't like a staggered setup, but it's a personal choice, nothing wrong with it.
I would run a staggered setup but my class doesn't allow me to run a larger tire than 285, so that's my square setup on 10.5x18 If I had my way I'd do a 285/305 or 315 on the back. |

Ummm...I'm sure you could order 10" if you want to wait that long, personally I don't see the point of running a 10" rim. My 275s are a little stretched on the 10.5s which is nice because it actually increases the spring rate of the car, which equals better handling in most cases. Each to their own I guess.

I would say that you'd need a coil over set to get a small OD spring. Plus a shorter spring that stays above the tire/wheel makes a 10.5 fit easily. I honestly don't know I it'll fit with the stock setup. I'd be interested to fit out, let us know.

Isn't 10.5 TE37 SL's offset ET20? Whereas, 10.5 TE37 (non-SL)'s offset is ET22.

Anyhow, I have both SL & non-SL TE37 (both sets 18x10.5 squared), and right now have 285's mounted at the rears on both sets (one DD & one track) and no problem at all. Planning on 295 on the rear next.

If I can add to this.......
I am getting TE37SL's in 9.5 ET22 and 10.5 ET20. Pretty sure I want to go with Michelin PSS 285's in the back but would they require some camber adjustment? 2nd Question: What should I go with on the front? 255's or 265's if I will have 285's in the back? Am wondering if the 265's would make the car tramline a lot more? Here are the tire sizes I was considering but am not sure what is ideal and DOES NOT require to adjust the camber, especially in the front. I don't like the setup where the tires are simply too wide and then require tucking in by running a whole lot of -ve camber. 1) 255/35/18, 285/35/18 2) 265/35/18, 285/35/18 Also not sure if I need to go with 285/35 or 285/30 in the rear? Any recommendations? Thanks. |
