We need more pics! Do you have a DSLR? Or something other than the phone?

Just thought I'd add to this, as I have now pretty much finished the run in period, so am spending a lot of time on full throttle and at max revs.
I said in my review that the gear change was a little notchy and not the most pleasant to use... Well, I stand by my earlier comments, but take the car up to the redline and things are very different! The change is smooth, slick and incredibley fast. In fact, I am prepared to stick my neck on the line and say that an excellent driver (like myself, obviously! ) will be able to move through the gears almost as fast as the mechanical change of an SMG box. It's 3am and I am heading off to bed now, but I will write more about this tomorrow and, at some point this week, will post video of a flying start going through the gears on a 0-200km/h run. |

Fabulous review FM. I'd like to concur in the abstract with your statements about steering feel. After reading all these reviews, and seeing the wide variety of opinions about the feel, I'm guessing that reviewers are mistaking the more forgiving ride or the better control of body roll for lack of "feel." I have no firsthand experience, so that's a guess, but the wide variation in opinion suggests different definitions of what consitutes good feel.

Excellent article and very insightful. Your unbiased and well thought out review puts me behind the wheel of the car which is what I need... many auto journalists aren't as articulate as you here .

Wow, BMW M leaves little room for criticism. Great car, brilliant write-up. I know I want one -- have to see the kids through college first though.
