Emergency Brake Adjustment
I'm told the emergency brake on the E92 M3 (2008) is self adjusting. Can't find anything in the manual and SA wasn't sure how the "self adjusting" component functioned. I'm getting some slippage when parked on even a slight grade. Handle comes all the way to the top of its travel.
Anyone had any experience with this? Anyone know how the self adjusting mechanism works? Thank you |

Just take the rear rotors off and it'll be obvious how it works. The e-brake assembly includes a "normal" star-type e-brake adjuster there that might solve your problem.

i just had mine adjusted at the dealer bc it wasn't holding too well.the mechanic said the spec is 6 clicks,so he adjusted it to that and didn't say anything about it being self-adjusting.
it works fine now, holds solidly. |

No need to take off the rotors. Remove one of the lug bolts and rotate wheel until you see the adjusting star through the hole. Long skinny screwdriver and a flashlight is your friend. At least that's how it was on previous models, I'm sure E9x is the same way.
