How high have you been?

I'm curious, I searched but didn't find a thread on this topic. What rev limit are people running? Who has the highest rev limit that has been safe (so far)? What supporting mods are available to run a higher rev limit?

I recently received my "8400 RPM" lisense plates and want to know what other M3 owners may be laughing at me for my patheticly low level of RPMs

There was a certain thread around here recently that had freeze frames from the shadow memory showing 8705!

I have approximately 2850 miles on my car. I've only been brave enough to go about 7500 rpm on public roads so far. Which is moving pretty briskly in this car regardless of gear! I feel I need to defend myself, It's tough to wind a car up to 8400 rpm when you've come from vehicles with redlines nowhere near that high. Hopefully I will ease into the 8400 rpm realm gradually.
P.s. I'm also afraid of overrevving once I get to 8400 rpm. I live a sad life.

yeah, I havn't hit the rev limiter yet, I obviously know 8400 RPM is a high rpm or I wouldn't have got the plates. Does the limiter really not kick in until 8600? I thought you needed a tune to raise it that high!??!

I have the ess tune with 8600 red line and bounce or have just sat at that limit many times. On track that's where you live, between 5k and 8600, which is absolutely insane when most cars redline around 5 or 6, god I still love this car!!!

I redline second daily; third gear not as often as I'd like.
