I gained app 40 whp going from stock midpipes to catless midpipe on my VT-625 kit, so you will probably increase your hp with your hfc´s x-pipe also

Depends on what your car makes before the kit is installed. The VT1-535 is rated to add 30% more power to the M3. We rate all of our power based on the car being 100% stock. Running high flow / catless exhaust systems with our kits will add to the power gained.

Love the power gains (I'm considering the 535 kit maybe in a few months) however, is that stock number (~320) correct? That would be ~22% drivetrain loss? Just curious.

To make sure I understand - if my car is making say 440hp because of hfc's/exhaust, then with the VT1 it would go to something approaching 572hp?

I like the fact the VT1 kits are fully upgradeable to VT2 kits. Could always step it up if you get "bored" with the 535 kit With a full Akra Evo system and 93 Octane this kit should put down some serious power though. This is so tempting.......

that's exactly why i did the VT1... for now.

with my track record, i'll eventually get bored and want more power.

ESS definitely have great kits, but personally, I'd be scared without cooling... even though its been proven to be great without cooling.

Roman...curious about this as well. Is it significantly more costly to upgrade from a 535 kit to 575 or 600 or is the cost about the same as the difference in the price of the kits themselves?

Facts are that 4.5PSI of boost generates very little heat if the SC setup is designed properly and has a good cold air source. GM ran non-intercooled 7-8PSI setups on their 3800 Series II 3.8L SC engine. Over 200.000 of those engines were built.

@ESS- Any issues with very cold start ups? (below 25 degrees) Block heater or engine blanket required? Weather has been pretty cold in the Northeast.

Car will always be leaving a temperature controlled garage so no issues there, however return trip I could be facing a cold start up.

Looking at the Vortech warranty page it appears to be an issue (voids warranty). Not sure if this is applicable in the VT-535/575 application.

Great research man. I've also be reading ESS and vortechs websites religiously. I want to fully understand what I'm about to get into!!!!

It's funny you mention that, AJ. When I hit the track for the first time in my '04 Cobra (bone stock at the time) it developed a crack in the SC reservoir. I ran the crap out of it for 3 hours before we noticed the problem...crazy part, it showed zero knock in the logs . Eaton superchargers build a lot more heat than centrifugal SC's too.

Thıs ıs true...I melted my #7 pıston twıce due to hıgh temps ın my 03 Cobra...those motors got heat soaked pretty quıckly when doıng hıgh speed runs. I learned my lesson the hard way about hıgh speed 5th and 6th gear pulls.....but ıt dıd pave the way for my Hellıon turbo setup
