Select music track?
When I press the up arrow on the steering wheel, I expect this function to skip to the next music track on my USB device. However, it seems to simply replay the current song. Pressing up (fwd) twice skips to next track.
Wasn't like that on my 335i, is this typical behavior or a setting? |

You have to press the down arrow for the next song. The up arrow repeats/goes to previous song.

Up is actually the back button. Down skips to next track. Best I can tell, they set it up as if it were looking at a playlist....i.e. down to the next song on the list.

yeah, massively confusing....down is always "next" for all selections, be it music, phonebook, radio stations...
There has to be a way to code it to inverse this, i always confuse it myself too. |

one would think that if OP tried using the up arrow and it replayed the same track, and went to the previous track if pressed twice, that OP would try pressing the down arrow to realize that it is next track....instead, OP decided to make a thread about it. nice

Think of it as navigating through the iPod menu rather than forward or back. The player cycles through music top to bottom, and I'm sure that's why BMW went to this control scheme.
If you click "up" you are trying to go either to the beginning of the song playing or go "up" your play list . Clicking down tries to go further down your playlist. |
