Carrying a Mountain Bike in E92 M3

Anyone tried to transport a mountain bike in their E92 M3? Is it easy to squeeze it in with the back seats down? I expect that you need to take at least the front wheel off?

Alternatively, what roof racks are available? Or do they have a rack that goes on the boot/trunk of the vehicle?

Would welcome any views or thoughts from experience.

Thanks!

Thanks! So a roof rack is available but what about squeezing one in the boot/trunk of the car with the seats down?

You can take off the front wheel and it should fit in the boot/trunk with the back seat down. Put some cloth to protect your interior from mud (mountain bike). I've done it and it works.

yeah you might want to put something down to protect your car. After awhile i feel it will get annoying. If you bike a lot maybe you should invest in the roof rack.

Should be very doable if you remove the front wheel. Seems like you have an M3 already - why not just give it a try?

Also, if you're mountaing biking...you're not going to want to stick a dirty bike in your car...so no thanks on the seats down/boot/trunk idea.

Thanks for all the comments. Will try both, but your right I won't want a dirty bike in the car so will look into the rack and whether its easy to put up and take down again...

There is 4 mounting points on my CF roof coupe..... I do think 1 bike with the front wheel removed will fit in the trunk with the seats folded down....the trunk is quite large for a "small" coupe

I took a mountain bike in my car yesterday. It fits fine, just have to take the front wheel off and put the back seats down. My bike came back pretty dirty, but just put a sheet in the boot and there was no mess to clear up.

Just extend the protective cloth outside that will cover the bumper. Just in case the extended pedal happen to kiss (even your bike love your M3) your bumber. I always use our old flannel bed cover sheet.
